Background
The car had a rough past much like other dsms. Used abused passed onto a new owner that got it rebuilt and blew it again ECT. When I got the car it had a 1g 7bolt swap (I'm guessing the 4th motor from what I could gather from past owners) it had been 400+ awhp and had link multiple times and blown multiple times. It also had A 1gb cayanne red interior swap. It was in poor condition when I got it the engine was good but it had oil leaks everywhere and wasn't running great. Exposed wiring twist and tape as connections everywhere. So I began to repair the old hack job wiring and I replaced all with new wires where needed. Then I took on the oil leaks. Turbo oil return, valve cover, valve cover gasket and oil feed line if I recall. At the same time I took on the leaky cracked exhaust manifold. When I was in there I decided to replace the turbo too and the O2 housing . finally it was running perfectly probably about 270 hp. It was getting close to needing an oil change again (I did 2 on it sofar at 3000km intervals) now the car is reaching about 10,000 kms since I bought it. The last oil change id done had been with royal purple as per usual after the engine stopped leaking oil and a fram filter( usually Mobil 1) but all the city stores didn't have my Mobil 1 or equivalent filter in stock. So I was stuck with a fram. I thought that wasn't gonna be so bad to run for a week till they got a shipment of m1 filters in or anything better. So I just ran it for a week.anyway 1500 kms (one week) after said oil change I was driving home from a car meet late Friday night on the highway when I noticed a lack of power at WOT I was about 1 minute from my turn off and about 2 minutes from home so I decided to take my usual turn off and then I'd pull over and inspect. As I took the exit the car began to bog and 1block later the car died and wouldn't start but would and I'd assume still would turn over. (Damn only 1 block from home!) To my horror as I got out I noticed a trail of oil behind my car the whole driver side was covered with oil. I got pushed home and the next day looked. The oil filter had cracked at the seal mating surface 1day before a week had passed just before the new filters came in. So I immediately began looking for a new engine. High and low almost a year later a buddy messages me and says he bought an Evo 2 that came with a spare engine and was asking if I wanted it!bingo! I scooped it and am now currently buying and building a top end to match. I plan to drop the black cherry although I love the color I found something more suitable and rare in my area. Panda. Along with plans for paint I plan on restoring the whole chassis to it's former glory. Repairs will consist of no body rust repair as it doesn't need it and then just a passanger frame rail replacement. To add to the unique look I am swapping on a 1gb talon rear bumper and tail lights and am partly done that at the time of this post. In the future I plan on creating a little local ledgend of the car. 400-500awhp street demon. No one (local) will know my build specs or anything about it and I will just go around challenging people to races. Hopefully I will create a name for it and then the rest will be history! For now though it sits broken in my driveway with a new heart almost ready to install around back in the garage
