- I am building this electric car with a 1969 Volkswagen fiberglass body and a 24 Volt Mobility Cart . I have already extended the axle by 10 inches and stretch the frame by 16 inches . That will give me a wheelbase of 48 inches from center of the hubs and a width of 31 inches .
