- Background
- I bought this gsx after selling my evo ix se. Literally the day after I started to look and came across this 1999 gsx for 7K not running with 70K original miles. Of course I took home a stealer deal for $1,300. All it needed was spark plugs and a new battery, I bought the items from a near by autozone around previous owner home and installed the parts. GSX turned on and fled the scene of a killer deal! With out realizing, I didn't even notice I didn't check if it was really a gsx. While driving the thought of not knowing was killing me, I pull off to the shoulder of the fwy and checked. Yes indeed it was a 1999 gsx! Since I had plenty of cash laying around I went Christmas shopping the following day. First maintenance with all new OEM belts, seals, pulleys.THen the funs stuff, FMIC, Kelford cams, Kelford spring and retainers, RC injectors, arps, FP 68HTA, and old set of ksports at the time. This car was used as a daily on e85 for 4 years with the build purpose of a all around dsm. Now since the gsx is not used as often, plans MIGHT be a full Road racing set-up. I can't bare to think of ripping black interior out so for now it will just be a regular joe all around car just with more power.
