Background
Back in 2011, it was my time to get my first ever car. I had always loved the 2g eclipse ever since I first saw it (which embarrassingly enough was from the first F&F movie) at the age of 10. Fast forward and I'm 19 getting my first car. Found a beauty: 1999 eclipse GSX premium model (leather seats, white faces gauges, oem mud flaps, etc) with 93k original miles. Bought it for 5k and named her Lucy. Well, drive it for 3 years or so and then it started blowing VERY faint white smoke. Because of my noobie knowledge with cars, I assumed it was a head gasket issue and stopped driving it immediately. Didn't have the tools or know how to work on the car in that depth and fix the issue. So, I tried to save for a shop to do it. Next thing you know, time flew, priorities changed, and the car sat from 2012 to 2018 without ever being started.

When finances started being handled appropriately, although I was still struggling, I managed to save up a little here and there and in summer of 2017 I decided to try and save my car (Lucy). I had no garage, no tools (wrenches, floor jacks, sockets) and knew I was in for a TON of work and stress. Bought a mechanics tool set from SEARS, borrowed jack stands and floor jacks from friends and neighbors and started tearing down what I knew needed to be torn down with my car. I wasn't able to work on my car often, being that I have no driveway and had to park the car in an alley on the dirt (have no backyard either), but whatever time I did get, I did what I could. My goal was to finish before winter so I gave myself a ton of time. 6 months later, I can finally say I'm finished with maintenance (for the most part) and officially took my car for its first ever short drive on Friday, Jan 26th, 2018. First time in almost 5 years!! Now, it's just time to dial everything in to have a perfectly maintained, but saved, dsm and then the fun can begin. My love for my car, Lucy, had never faded. And I can finally start my I Love Lucy series to share with everyone on the forums!
