- My father purchased this beauty in New Mexico in 2012-ish in non-running condition. He saved it from continuing to be a lawn ornament and started pulling it apart and getting all the bits and pieces it was missing. He has since had two new motors put in it, the original was trashed, the second one broke it's timing belt after only 15K miles, and the current engine is still running strong after 20K miles including several cross country trips.
He has now given me the car to work on since we live too far apart for me to help much with it and he no longer has the time to dedicate to it. This car has lived most of its life in the desert so has very little rust, but the paint has had a hard life in the sun. I plan to repair as much cosmetic damage as I can without going full show car with it. It will be a summer only car and stored in the garage in the winter to keep it rust-free.
