Background
Funny story. I bought this car since my wife and i thought we couldn't have kids. So i told her "fine i give up, I'm buying a project car," and she said "yeah definitely!" then a few weeks later on the Monday i went to go check out this car, my wife sprung on me that she is actually pregnant. So i looked at her hesitantly and asked "so umm.....can i still get the car?..." she just laughs and said "yes, you can still get the car," So i got my dream car and baby all in one day, Hallelujah! I have about 8 months to build this thing before the baby comes (Jan 2022) and im working a second job just for this build.

The goal is a 400+whp time attack/ weekend cruise car. Stay tuned!

Congrats on the baby!!! I too was on the same boat and also got amazing news last Dec 2019. Great looking EVO by the way.
Hey congrats to you too then! LOL yeah it was a complete reality check, i never would have even looked for this car if i knew we were pregnant in the first place LOL

Man I’d love to have a EVO iii someday. Couldn’t afford the EVO tax so I bought a galant. Lol

Will the folks at icraveboost be doing your tuning as well? I’m on the hunt for a experienced tuner in the Denver area…

well as soon as they get back to me, they helped me write up a quote for 400-425whp set up in 2 phases and i im ready for phase one right now but they havent gotten back to me yet about when? im just going to have their guy tune it once the new ECM is installed (which is part of phase one)

I really enjoyed the story of getting the car since my wife also allowed and encouraged me to buy my 97 even though we recently had twin girls. Sounds like we both lucked out with good wives LOL.
haha yeah thats how we know we married the right one LOL but twin girls?! Good Lord, you must have your hands full! we were hoping for twins (since it runs in our family) but no luck LOL we should find out the gender this Aug 19!

thank you, it took a while to sand them down and paint them LOL but yes i believe they all came 4 lug. here this week once i get it back from the shop, as long as it doesnt blow up on the dyno, ill have that mod list looking kinda pretty ;)

Can't wait to see it man. I want one of these so badd
im supposed to get her back today! its been a long time coming so i hope he's right! LOL i think if all goes well, they dyno tune it today after all the work they just did and i can pick it up after work?

Think I caught a glimpse of your EVO III when I dropped off the deposit for my car about a month ago. Corner of my eye kinda glimpse.

I’ve got an appointment for the 6th to drop the Galant off to have the battery relocation redone properly, a modification made to the radiator and to get their help with a diagnosis on my shifting issues. Hoping the trans doesn’t need a rebuild and can wait til next year.

I’ve heard great things about Steve, the guy that tunes there. Divulge Motorsport I think it is. It will be cool if I can get them to shoot me a quote for a dyno session for my car as it hasn’t seen redline since I’ve owned it.

Stoked you’re getting you whip back right in time for turbo weather. I demand pics and vids when you do! Lol

heck yeah brotha! thats awesome, Schiller and his team are freaking master minds with DSM/EVO's, I've heard nothing but great things about them from close friends of mine and random strangers i met along the way. so im excited to see what he does to this! tuned on e85 with the fp green set up and 268 cams, im aiming for over 400whp. i hope whatever is wrong with your car, it isnt anything serious or expensive? how many miles do you have on your beauty? she looks clean!

Thanks man! Who knows on the mileage. The dash said 160k when I bought it. Carfax said 210k at some point in its life. And I’ve put almost 10k on it since I took ownership. She’s crusty but trusty so far.

That’s gonna be nasty! I’m looking forward to similar power goals with e85 in mind.

Fingers crossed it nothing to serious. Typical 2nd and 3rd gear grinds. I’ve replaced every bushing in the shifter assembly and at the trans with brass bushings and have adjusted the shift cables. That helped clean it up but it’s still there. Eases up a bit once the trans is warmed up, but if you shift in any way other that smooth and slow you’ll get a crunch.

wow a running dsm with over 200K?! thats a real unicorn LOL mine grinds in 5th gear also if i dont let the rpm's drop first, and sometimes third can be hard to get into but mine sat for a few years before i bought it so everything on it or in it is over 9 years old i think? LOL so hopefully changing the fluids (all over) and messing the with the cable linkage he can fix my trans problem. its nothing big, just more annoying and mine only has about 87k miles i think now? i bought it with 84k in may and put a few on it since.

I know right?! I feel pretty lucky.

No telling how old my driveline fluids are either. I’d bet they right along side you at being nearly a decade old. Im reaching out to Jacks down in the Springs to get some numbers from them for a trans rebuild next year. Hopefully a fluid change will improve things further until then.

the guys at ICraveBoost Performance in Denver do a great job, youll wait a while becuase they are short staffed but LOL? they made their name and living off of building some of the fastest DSM's in colorado for the last decade+. they can do literally ANYTHING in house, very rarely do they send things off to another shop to do. fluid swaps all around should only be a few $100 and i bet your car will love you for it too.
