- Background
- bought the car from a local friend of mine, at the time it was a pretty basic setup. E316G, Evo injectors, ecmlink with 2g mass airflow sensor. The car had a very bad vibration above speeds of 38mph. found out a u joint was failing and from there i started modifying the car. moved up to a HX35 blew a motor, moved to a HX40 blew another stock motor. put a built 7 bolt motor in and enjoyed it for awhile. the i spun a bearing pretty bad and built another built motor but this time a 6 bolt bottom end and swapped the HX40 out for a Borgwarner 366sxe. i enjoyed that turbo up until the winter of 21'-22' which then i decided to make some big changes to the setup. Had a custom 4-2-1 top mount manifold made for the car, put in a JMFab race manifold and a bunch of other things swapped out. After enjoying the borg for a few months i decided to make a big purchase on a Xona Rotor 9569s with a .82 housing. driving around with that turbo it felt like the car was lacking and missing something. Spoke with Robert at FP and came to realize this turbo wasnt like any other turbo and i should been using a .64 housing due to lack of drive pressure and now it feels like im driving around with a HX35 again but with a much harder punch to it.
As for now the car and setup still needs alot of things for it to be where id like it to be. PPG gear set, moroso oil pan, standalone ecu with a custom harness, tubed subframes, etc etc... as of now the car is a street car and tuned light for the best chance for the trans to survive. the car is also used for 1/3 mile roll racing at pocono's.
