Can you answer a couple questions for me please.

Why did you go with 16gs rather than like a bolt on, well swap turbine housing 13g?

I didn't know halltech made a swap in ecu. Is it plug and play? Can u link me to the 3k halltech ecu please? I have a friend who would love to know, so im curious, but also ki da asking for a friend too🤣

Got a great deal on the MHI e16g setup. It's an IPS kit with all piping. Didn't come with an IC but I have a new Greddy 3 row.

Bought the car with "15g" turbos, which were junk. Didn't even run it, since I towed back home. Found that one turbo comp wheel was contacting the housing so I replaced both with used OEM 9b's, or so I thought. One used turbo was actually a 13g and wouldn't fit in the 9b exh housing either. Was hitting fuel cut with those on stock boost levels ~12-13psi. That was otherwise fun while it lasted. 13g's are about as high as I'd recommend on TD04 personally, but I'm not a fan of the highly restrictive TD04 manifolds and exhaust inlet sizes in general. For the longest time, owners were running huge TD04 hybrids and blowing their crap up, and that's a big reason why the platform didn't advance while others did.

When my TC leaked and took out the VCU, I said to heck with it. May as well upgrade the drivetrain and everything else. Actually had a good VCU in a 5 speed 25 spline, which has the same VCU and OS as the 6, but instead of using that like a sensible person, I sold it and bought a $3000 SCE torsen center LSD as well as Quaife front LSD.

The Haltech isn't a plug and play affair for the 3S platform. Boomslang seems to make a harness but it's $600. There's some limited info on 3SI about wiring for 91-93, but I'll post details on 94-95 soon. There were at least 3 major changes to the factory wiring & ECU's/plugs. The one I have is an Elite 2000. Need either the 2000 or 2500 for a 6 cylinder.

Will take some more pictures soon. It's a fairly unremarkable and stock appearing pearl white 94 3000gt. Going to keep it low key and fairly stock appearing I think. Actually have a full 99 front end with mint headlights and turn signals, but may sell it all instead of using it. Sold a Cianci/C7 triple pillar pod also instead of using it.

Still man I like the "build". Nothing wrong with semi stock with a bit more pep and a little turbo lag. Alot of dsmers love to see nice cars. A cousin in the Mitsubishi realm is still cool to have hanging out with us here.

I can't remember the year of my buddies but I know he's been wrenching hard over the last few year. And probably would like the info im asking about ROFL.

So you have a good 13g and one good tdo4 15g?

Pulled off both "15g's" before even starting the car after purchasing. I could tell from looking at the parts that they were Chinese. In fact, I still have some of that stuff and offered it up on 3si for free. Was aiming to throw on stockers to work out any bugs. There weren't too many bugs to work out aside from some Chinese fuel fitting and typical piping coupler issues. Replaced clamps with t-bolts straight away.

I would say that it has a 13g and a 9b but they're already pulled off for the MHI E16G's. A lot of stuff will be changing at once. That'll just make it all the more interesting.

Debating on whether to keep the stockish TT stuff and put it on a 99 3000GT NA or just sell everything possible.

I'm not opposed to TD04's for stock+/BPU power levels, they're just problematic when looking to run much boost. Regarding Haltech wiring, there's a thread here with some limited info, however going this route isn't recommended because the support just isn't there.
Personally if i were to ever find a nice 3k like that i would probably stock with OEM mitsu parts. I always heard the transfer case goes out on the awd if they get driven too hard. Do they make an upgrade to remedy that issue?

It's a trade off. 5 speeds had all aluminum TC housings, and those could crack. 6 speeds have iron or steel front cases like DSM's, however the 6 speed trans itself has a couple of weaknesses.

I think the TC issues are overblown myself. Had multiple 3S TT's, and drove them like a madman. Even the 91 with early 18 spline TC didn't break anything. When it comes to drag racing and slicks, things start breaking for sure. Regardless, I'm already going with 300M shaft/spool and other upgrades. 6 speed reinforcement as well.
