Background
I bought this car after a 5 year search for a pretty clean cayanne red gsx I never found one, However I did find a gst, It was fairly clean no shock tower rust only minor rust we could spot. It was pouring down rain and we were hours from home. We were in a buddys talon. I hesitantly offered the Guy a few thousand less than his asking price, The car needed shocks, it ran but had noise. thought it was the headgasket (it wasn't turned out to be a bent rod on cyl. four). Drove the car home in the pouring rain, the windshield wipers were gone. We stopped an bought new wipers and put them on. Now back on the road and closer to home. Get the car home and all is well, it made it home no problems. Car sat for a few days. Drove the car around the block, My first time driving a stick, I didn't even drive it home. Made it around the block with few problems, shit i got this.
Bought all my timing stuff, new head gasket and stuff i absouluty need to put it back on the road
Then comes my first mistake as a newb. I ordered it from Dsm graveyard, I got my stuff about a month later.
The tear down begun, went to spin the block to TDC and the 4th piston is not coming all the way to the top. Shit found that noise. Proceeded Ripping out the block. The clutch was faily new. So then I started my hunt to rebuild the block. Way to expensive for what I had in mind. Found a running 96 shortblock local for a good price. Monet and I go pick it up. We get it put in with new timing belt and gaskets and such. Stock fuel took the 660s it had in it out. The safc was still in the car on 0. Had a 190 in the tank. Had a 16g with an ets front mount and gredy blow off at this time with an injen intake. Fast foward though a whole 16g build on link with 850s and making my shell nicer. That engine ran like a champ. Anyway as for how it goes, kids
divorce, life. The car sat and sat I never had time to drive it. So I decided to build a Fp black power awd car. I have collected all the awd swap stuff with an lsd rear. I have to buy a transmission. I have a pile of parts for my build awaiting to take a 98 split thrust to have it built to my means. 600 or close Daily driver capable race car. So it may take a few years but its gonna be what I wanted from the very beginning. To think I could of just bought a p88 gsx new and I bought a Dodge Is beyond me. Thats what happens when your young and want it now. The dodge was there and no gsx or gst were. So after changing the core support having the rockers patched and killing cancer, my shell is still in its original paint with no fade and still looks show quality. I hate to but I need to paint the repaired parts atleast. But thinkin a full paint is in order. I mean I have over 5k in parts for this build so far whats a 2k paint job.
