Background
2/2011
Bought my 97 GST Spyder from CarMax here in NV for $3300. The car was from Ohio. It Did have minor rust, I was surprised from the other DSMs that mine wasn't eaten up like others. Car did belong to a girl sadly I know it because the it smelled like ladies perfume, it was in complete disrepair(needed TOB, Clutch, Pressure Plate, new Stayfast Top, top motors, top ecu, top link control, top link assembly, headliner, boost leaks everywhere, purge control valve & battery) few months later Lateral Control snapped off taking the passenger CV axle. the spyder did have some amateur mods which included 17" rims, apexi turbo timer, gates racing timing belt and balance shaft belt.

Starting my stock repairs I began replacing everything I mentioned 1st. along with 90amp Galant alternator and rebuilt OEM starter.

6/2012
After weeks of destroying many other DSM at local Wrecking yards. I built the confidences to begin remove the rust from mine. I began with rebuilding the front & rear sudframes control arms knuckles and sway bars and also bought Tokico Illuminas and Ground Control Coil overs.

9/2012
Next my stock T25 turbo blew out. With just removing the whole pipe from the O2 housing and unhooking the exhaust from there hangers in doubt of damging the Cat when doing the subframe job it time t replace the whole exhaust and turbo. I purchase a brand new t25 from a local yard...I know it was new I found the receipts in the car only going back 3 months. Next to buy was the Megan Racing SS Downpipe and Thermal R&D Exhaust . One of the best mods I have ever done so far.

With driving the all black Spyder the beige leather slowly died. I tossed it out did a full Black interior swap. As you know the Spyders are a lot tougher then coupes but in march I began my swap all I need now are the black spyder seat belts as of 2014.

5/2013-7/2013
months of small mods everywhere radio new tires better sway bars intake Bov bigger FMIC and maintaining a ghost came back to haunt me, the clutch and he brought his friend the transmission. A Hard truth to accept but I have no choice but to replace everything in my local yard I found a 2.4L Spyder 5speed and did a 4g63 to 4g64 transmission swap 2.4 CV axles & new Polyurethane insert mounts. Turned out to be the a great mod with Act clutch Oem TOB and extreme pressure plate.

9/2013-3/2014
The worse of the worst to DSMers everywhere at bad timing. Head Gasket Blown enough said. 2.4L transmission swap toke its toll and I was barely recovering from the expanse of the Passing of a Titan & with Thanksgiving Blk Friday and Xmas on the way My kids come 1st. til taxes. For 6 months she slept which was ok for me while I got the planning for the engine rebuild which included ARPs Cometic HG New Gates racing Belts everywhere oil port mod head cylinder rebuild and decked engine block decked exhaust manifold stud replacement camshaft seals intake gasket oem fuel injector seals TB seals evo exhaust manf 4layer copper gasket.

12/2014
I spent a while looking for a tower strut brace so I got aluminum ebay for 20 buck and love it...a Christmas present from me to me lol.

5/2014-Present
The engine rebuilt was completed. I pick up a set of rare oem 2gb mud flaps from forum members(thanks guys, shout out to both of you) Healthy running engine it was time to register and has become my DD til this day 2/2015.

2/2015
As an update the stock UICP is causing boost leak -_- t So with that said I started looking for upgrades for the past few weeks...most were discontinued or was for short route. With the help of another forum member I got a Greddy discontinued Stock hard UICP. An hour ago or so I became part of a group buy held by NGR bov. I can't wait to install all of these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3/2015
Shortly after my UICP swap I came across 92 Hyundai Valve Cover...you know the thick black one with the special bolts. I liked it because it stronger and it was already black. Upon installation the NEW VC gasket leaked oil and caused a oil mess everywhere. Oil spilled on the timing belt. So I toke it apart cleaned it by hand and reassembled only to find the Oil Front Case Gasket leaking. As if today i ordred every OEM seal and gasket along to go with Oil port mods on the front case and block.

11/2017
Oil pump port new timing belts and bearings. I also did red LED dash AC, Cruise, mirror and Fig light conversion...looks awesome red and with my Pioneer AVH 7700Bt to match the color she looks badass!!! im planning a complete paint job I have 2ga Talon skirts with Oem Mud flaps. I'm also doing a spare tire well delete with underbody support welding and making my trunk completely flat. A small roll cage for the trunk is being made too for sound and space in mind. That's all for now

3/2019
Was the year I put her into hibernation for 13months nothing wrong here just need to get my life straighter

4/2020
National lockdown everyone's at home. No work decided to awake sleeping beauty. DID whole timing belt oil pan maintenance installed a ton of stuff I bought i had sitting in my garage.trunk panels rear swaybar installed a few Hella horns repaired the factory alarm as I saw where this world was going did a Full LED headlight bulbs hardwired a dash cam my wife got me for Xmas 2019 that was in my other car Work wasnt going anywhere had to return to work elsewhere. Hardtimes came had to sell my other car and had to start using my Spyder for a job. its Oct 2020 now.

2/2021
Covid taking over the world, Global Pandemic rages on. Still made time some modifications to my Spyder. So far I've a full LED interior switch lighting being thats all the rage in New cars these days. Got a set of Tonys(b00sted) aluminum door handles had them powder coated gloss black just installed. Brand new Spyder Carpet 3g Spyder black rear seats, yes they fit 2g's. My black door panels were taking a beating so I came up with an idea of JB welding all the plastic pieces inside the bezels and window switch to reinforce the whole structure and now they are solid as a rock i may take them apart to adjust the infamous window rattle AGAIN. And make an article for it. for 2 months in JB weld is holding up.
