- Background
- So I wanted a turbo car after high school and always like the 2g dsm with the infamous 4g63 but back then didn't know much about them.So I started searching after high school for a GSX.Had no luck finding any in my area (Northern Indiana) that weren't rust buckets. So I opened up my search more and come across a 97 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD over South of chicago. At this time I never even heard of one (Was still very new to DSM's) but I loved the style more than a GSX.So I went and checked it out. Some back story on the car.It was a rebuilt stock motor, the car had all of the paint and body redone and was a fairly stock car.So I checked it out and couldn't stop smiling after the test drive so I ended up buying it.Its been more of a project than ever expected but truthfully it's taught me alot and it's made me more comfortable with the car.Alot of cobled garbage I had to fix though, like a Welded on axle nut rather than getting a cotter pin, a hole on the body rail patched with fiberglass, and a home made rigged up j pipe out of radiator hoses and steel tubing pieces. But Iv went over everything they did and fixed it all the right and safe way.So my goals with this car are to have a fun awd 350hp car hopefully all said and done.As of now I only plan to push the evo 3 to hopefully 22-24psi to keep it safe a reliable. If it chooses to let go maybe the future will change for it and I'll put a built motor in with a bigger turbo and shoot for around 500 hp at some point. These are the plans for now, but who knows what the future will bring.
