4g61t going into a early 60's Hydrodyne ski boat...

Year:
1990
Model/Trim:
Eagle Talon TSi AWD
  • Ownership Status:
    I own it
    Turbo Type:
    16g
    Drivetrain:
    RWD
    Transmission Type:
    Manual
    Build Type:
    • Rallycross
    Mods-Engine:
wanting to make my own top mount manifold (unless I can find one cheap used) and use the bell housing from the 5spd to adapt to Penta out drive. Have a '95 Elantra 1.8 head for bigger ports and want to get some cams for it, but dont' know who to talk to about a more torque producing cam set.
    Parts Wishlist:
Once I get it all running well, I'll slowly build up a 2.4. Use the Elantra head if it won't mess the compression too much, and keep the torque up and hp around 250 so I don't break stuff.
    Background:
As you can see in the pic of the side, the original windshield will be swapped out for a more laid back version. I think it changes the whole personality of the boat..

I'm just over 55yrs old and don't need any more childish comments or responses to questions I may ask. I've raised my kids, and don't want more.
I've been messing with machinery of all kinds and love the challenges it brings.
Except electrical/wiring.. That gives me hives, migraines and diarrhea. I had a young gent cut down my colt harness to make a stand alone, so I 'should' be fine there. We'll see.
and if the out drive blows up, I may make two ports in the floor to install two PWC jet pumps from some jet-ski's that I have. If I just use some belts running off the flywheel to the the pump drives It "should" work. Just as long as I get the right C/W and drive/driven motion.

Well, it finally stopped raining and I still have all my fingers and facial hair after the 4th, so I got some yard work to do and maybe I can snap a few pics to post this afternoon.
It's NOT pretty, unless you wanna say it's pretty moldy and crappy..

Do 'we' have an app for our phones here? Or just log in and post?

Thunder; I'll let you know. I'm one of those that hides things saying " I'll put it RIGHT HERE so I won't loose it" and won't see it for years, until I look for something else unrelated..

I post from my phone mostly, works pretty well, only use my laptop when I have to resize pics and/or look at lots from members.

I know the feeling of setting something down and losing track of it! Then ill buy a new one and find the piece I was looking for 1 day later, haha.

Moldy ain't bad! My car looks like crap as it sits, I put everything into the drivetrain so IDC how it looks, haha.

Sounds like a cool project! If you have any wiring questions there's quite a few guys on here that know their stuff, and I'm what I'd call moderate at it. I can read a diagram and figure it out.

If you're looking for specific parts lmk, I've go a decent little collection of pieces. Good luck on the project! :thumb:
