Street Build - My first 1G

Build Type

Mods-Bolt-on: -16g Turbo
-FP Exhaust manifold
-660cc Denso injectors
-Walbro 255 fuel pump
-2.5” downpipe and piping to OE muffler.

Mods-Handling: -Megan Racing lowering Springs on KYB’s
-Sparco Terra Rally wheels (17x7.5)

Parts Wishlist: Not sure what route I want to go with the car yet. This will determine the next step in turbo and engine mods, suspension, etc.
For now, it’ll stay close to stock with minor bolt ons :-)

Background: I’ve owned 4 other DSM’s. All were 2Gb Eclipses. 1 GST and 3 GSX’s. I got out of car building for a while due to the point in my life where I had to focus on other things and didn’t have the extra money to own a ”toy”. Well now I do and I missed having a fun vehicle. I bought this from a someone who took great care of it. It was his first DSM and he gave it a try. He is a Toyota fan at heart and just didn’t get into the car. He did fix a lot of issues and tracked a lot of hard to find parts down for it. I plan to do mild build items to the car of of now. Probably will do a mild road courses with it and MAYBE some drag strip again. Mostly just a weekend toy. It has some minor mechanical and performance issues with it that I will address. Definitely had a bad CV axle on driver left side and there is a boost leak. I have the leak detector in the mail now. It has an exhaust leak by the manifold and I can bet the manifold it cracked. I have an FP manifold in the mail coming for it now. Future mods will mostly be a mild time, a slightly larger turbo and some better suspension components. I’ll update as it comes.
