- Background
- I'm the third owner of this stock, nearly rust-free 1999 Eclipse RS from Arizona, which had 96,615 miles on the odometer when I purchased it in July 2019.
The car already had the Preferred Equipment and Power Packages from the factory, and I plan to restore it to showroom condition and (mostly) upgrade it to the GS trim level with a few personalized touches. My goal is to keep it stock though, preferring OEM parts for any upgrades.
Major Maintenance:
- September 2019: Spark plugs, spark plug wires, air filter
- September 2020: New outer tie-rod ends, remanufactured axles
- August 2021: New wheels, center caps, and tires, new battery, camshaft and crankshaft position sensors
- June 2022: Engine seal kit & MLS head gasket, (4) motor mounts and cushions, radiator, radiator fan motor, upper and lower radiator hoses, coolant reservoir bottle, timing belt & components, serpentine belt, A/C belt, oil pump, oil pan, coil pack, spark plugs, transmission filter, fuel filter, inner tie-rod ends, exhaust manifold, valve keepers, valve springs, thermostat, steering rack bellows, EGR valve, knock sensor
- August 2022: Transmission output shaft seal, oil drain plug
- June 2023: OEM front bumper cover and reinforcement, GS air guide, fog lights, Passenger Front Fender Liner, Headlight Bulbs
