Background
My first dsm I purchased when I was 18, 2g gst. Mild bolt on car, it was a POS and I didn't help its cause. it was fast when it ran. which was rarely. sold the car, didn't regret it.I was young and didn't know how to maintain the car and properly care for it. I wasn't too knowledgeable at that time. Now I'm a little older, wiser and much more patient and not cheaping out on this one. I stayed interested in DSMs and had a good buddy with this TSI. He did ALOT of work to this thing to bring it up to par from the previous owners abusing and not repairing or maintaining the Talon properly. My good buddy got a steal on an Evo 8 and knew I was very interested in the Talon and knew I would be able to finish it up and get it to where it needed to be as a fun streetcar. Purchased it from him and instantly there was low compression and blowby from the rings fouling the spark plugs under boost. Removed the engine. switched to His old Evo 8 internals that were low mileage when he put a new built block in his Evo. Now re-assembling, switching to E85 and Fic 1650 injectors. Then is all cosmetic changes to make it look good under the hood. I plan on being right at low to mid 400whp and keeping it there as just a toy and street car.
