- Background
- My brother in law called me one day ( massive DSMer) and said he needed help pushing his car that died down the street. What I saw was this gorgeous car I now own. He just bought it from I’m guessing the guy who was on this forum down in Massachusetts area. He had it like 2 weeks and had nothing but problems( no shit lol) we got it back to my house and I got it back running. Fuse was corroded from the alternator to the battery. Only charging like 11 volts so the car would slowly die once he jumped it. Clutch was miss adjusted and wouldn’t fully release so it was hard going into gear and occasionally grind. Plus many more smaller issues. He really wanted this ‘07 white STI and needed the funds. So I bought this barley running car for $3500. After replacing the blown turbo, head gasket, plugs, all other odds and ends. I was a couple thousand dollars into it. I drove maybe 3000 miles before the clutch decided to grenade on thanksgiving. So now it’s up on jack stands 90% disassembled ready for new clutch and flywheel to go into it. Once I have the funds she will be back on road again! I don’t know how many buff hrsprs it has. I was TOLD it was 407 HP / 386 TQ. It’s probably a little less than that but god this car was fun. My previous car was a slow 2002 civic SI. So I fell in love with the AWD turbo.
