just wanted to say that I have been buying from jay racing for over the past year and all I have to say is that he has some of the fastest shipping and best customer service that extist hands down. Highly recommended!
got my timing belt tool set from them the hydraulic tensioner compressor looks to be in great NIB state the cam holding tool feel fairly cheap though it's only purpose is to hold the cams in place I'll see how well it holds up.
My main issue and I'm probably going to call them tomorrow about it is the preload tool; the item was missing paint, it had grease *probably from previous jobs* and surface rust everywhere; not what I was expecting at all :(
When I buy tools I have a slight expectation that they are new when I buy from vendors unless it states "USED"
I'm going to call them soon and see what happened :/
UPDATE: Called Jay last week recieved a voicemail a couple days later apologizing and assuring me that he will see what happened and send me a replacement.
UPDATE: My new prelaod tool arrived, and it is perfect; no rust at all. It's brand spanking new. Thanks Jay
I will definitely deal with him again for future purchases
Jay is a great guy. His products are great (timing belt tools, alternator relocation kit), and he's a great guy to talk to. He has worked with me when I had problems with his tools and got me what I needed to be back up and running very quickly. Excellent customer service!!!
Overall, they are excellent to deal with and have great business practices by being fair, responsive, helpful with questions, and they provide awesome product support. I purchased and have comments on the following:
1. Alternator Relocation Kit: Fitment is excellent. I lost a spacer included in the kit (my fault) and Jay quickly offered to replace it free of charge.
2. Sent Alt Reloc Kit to Jay to modify to accept Saturn Alternator: Jay provides this service so I didn't have to purchase a new kit specifically for the GM alt. Again, fitment is excellent. No problems at all and the GM alt solved ALL of my voltage issues. Period. Now I get 13.5v-14.4 volts with the car running. Always.
3. Remote Oil Pressure Sender Kit: The kit includes the necessary fittings to remotely connect my Autometer electric sender to my OFH. However, the straight fitting provided by default will not clear the lower crossmember, when connecting the hose to the lower plug hole at the OFH. (I couldn't use the upper plug hole at the OFH because that is the filtered source for my turbo). If you plan to purchase this kit, I recommend you request a 90 degree fitting upfront...Anyways, I requested a 90 degree elbow fitting from Jay and he quickly sent one to me free of charge. That is what I call product support!!!
I definitely would not hesitate to purchase from this vendor again.
