I know this is an old thread, but it helped me a lot in making a final decision on my wheel/tire setup so i figured i would contribute to it. Hopefully it'll help someone else in the future. I was originally going to do the 18x9.75 with stretched tires, as i really enjoy the look, but I knew i was going to be doing track days so I ended up going with a more functional setup.

Anyway, i ended up with the following:
Wheels: XXR 527 18x8.75 +35mm
Tires: Michelin Pilot Super Sport 235/45/18
Front fenders: rolled and pulled a half inch or so.
Rear fenders: rolled the best i could (they're made of twin wall steel, which is very hard to roll) and pulled VERY slightly
Suspension: lowered on Megan adjustable coils

Hey i was looking at getting the 18 inch xxr 527. Did you have the roll them?

I rolled and pulled the front, and rolled the rear as best as I could (It is two layers of steel, so it's pretty hard to do). It will depend on how low the car is, and whether you go with 8.75" or 9.75" wide. Regardless, I would recommend rolling them if you can.

Most dsms now a day have these wheels :beatentodeath:
Yeah you are right. I love them and can't see anything I would even upgrade to beyond the xxr, the offset is perfect and the rims makes the car look mean, which is the main reason for having them on the car.

yeah I finally got a set for mine. haven't had a chance to put them on yet but looking to run either 265 or 285's on them with some fender flares to make it fit flush.

Here they are in 18x9.75 +20
No spacers. Slight roll & pull required. No I don't rub at all.
Yes I can go over regular speed bumps without trouble.
I have them on Nitto 555 18/225/40 .

Si esta el carro bajo ; si..
Los 8.75 raspan si esta muy bajo.

El remedio es doblar el metal adentro de la area donde la llanta se aserca..

Busque que hay documentos de este arreglo.

Can't believe how old this thread is but also how much helpful it was to me, thanks a lot guys. It was very hard for me to leave the sporty look for something more functional but the roads are just a big mess in my country, probably in a year or two I'll try with other tires, for now, these looks and feels very good:

Rims: XXR 527 8.75 +35
Tires: 235/45/18 -- Yokohama Advan Sport

No rubbing issues at all, stock suspension.
