No, because the first thing you should do on every DSM is cut that garbage off and loop the wires.

It ain't so.

I've done this on dozens of 1G DSMs. I think this is around step 2 of fixing shit the factory did wrong...I typically do this right after I unplug the clutch switch.

Well the non working a/c was one of the first thing I removed when I bought the car back in 2006, along with the condenser fan. Now I'm all old and shit and want comfort back so I just reinstalled complete a/c from scratch with all new parts ( minus lines ) and im running twin 12" Spals. So needless to say I never had to wire a second fan until now. Thanks for the info.

Well. after driving with the a/c on for a day I found the 20amp condenser fan has blown. I installed a 30 for now. These fans are rated at roughly 10amp continuous but perhaps they spike over 20amps during startup. Any thoughts?

Keep the 20amp in, i learned its never wise to change the fuse ratings. There's no way a start up would double the amperage. If a fuse is blowing out, 99% of the time it's either wired wrong or you have a short to ground.

I'm going to take a multimeter to it tomorrow, I'm having other issues as well. the car drives like shit with A/C on and it doesn't like to idle with the load of the compressor.
