It's simple, abide by the posted policies. Keep the BS out of the forums. And help us build a valuable tech resource for DSMers to benefit from for years to come. Posts will be removed, threads closed or moved, and requests for compliance will be sent on occasion. That's just the way it is.
Moderators will do what they can to keep the forums clean of BS and reduce the drama. Before you get pissed off about how they handle things, think about the quality of the resource first. That's what they're thinking about. The top priority is always to make this a quality resource, even if feelings get hurt along the way. It has nothing to do with egos and power trips. If you have a problem with a moderator, PM me. Any public complaints will be deleted.
One of the biggest issues with online forums like ours is that people tend to ask questions that have been asked and answered hundreds, if not thousands of times before, sometimes multiple times per day. We understand that sometimes users will do a search and not find what they're looking for, but in many cases, it's blatantly obvious that the user has not even looked at the other thread titles in the forum they're posting a question in, let alone searched for the info they're looking for. If you post a repetitive question it very well might get merged with another thread, deleted or locked. Search our forums for the info you're looking for first, then post a question.
This request is posted all over the site in several places - before you post a question, follow the instructions on the New Thread posting form and browse a few places for your answer first, and do some keyword searches. If you cannot find your answer, then post a new question.
Before you post any questions, first read all of the FAQ forum, the Tech Articles, and do some searches.
On a side note, if you find that other members are replying to your thread with "use the search" or just being assholes, report those posts individually so a moderator can be aware of them.
