I have a 2g I just installed a galant alt on and for some reason now.

My idle voltage is 12.5-13v when i turn any accessories drops to 12-12.5v now here's were it gets crazy.

When I put car in gear shoots to 16-17v and stays there til I lift off the throttle.

Voltage at the alt as well as link and also my voltmeter all check out. I'm assuming it's alt but wasn't sure if anyone has experienced this situation yet.

Sounds like the voltage regulator built into the alternator is faulty. I have a gallant alt from advance auto that behaved the same way. To much voltage is dangerous for your ecu and other electronics
