2G Oil filter housing blew up

Hello I have a 2g gsx and my oil filter housing cracked where the oil pressure sensor goes right above where the oil feed line goes. I was changing my oil feed line and put back the sensor and once I started the car the first time it was just a leak. So I tightened the oil pressure sensor and i stared the car and it cracked the oil filter housing above where the oil sensor was. Did I tighten it too much?

Yea, that would be my guess. It's easy to bust a cast AL housing with a tapered thread.

That’s what I was thinking I put it on there the first time snug and it leaked so I tightened it some more and it busted and oil leaked everywhere I ordered a new oil housing comes in Saturday. Thanks for the help

When you get your new one get some of the oil-resistant teflon paste. It comes in a tube like toothpaste. I bought one a long time ago somewhere I always smear some of that on fittings before installing them and it seems to make a difference.
