Everyone please... I don't clam to know DSM's thats why I joined the forum but just because I don't know DSM's please don't take me for a fool iv worked on cars sins I was just out of diapers all kinds off cars im a mechanic by trade and im damn good at what I do but clearly I can't possibly know every thing about every car once again thats why I joined the forum I already knew that the factory BOV was probably going to be better car companies spend millions and millions on R&D so of coarse a cheap $30 eBay BOV is going to suck and the Greddy mite not be that much better but im not a racer I do this stuff for fun so to me that little bit of bling the Greddy BOV offers is more impotent thin going .01 faster in the 1/4mile its all just for fun and its the same deal with the BOV plug if I didn't think it was going to work I would of took it right back off but its not like I said the car don't run any different with it on or off its a happy little car that could use some valve seals and an exhaust

You joined the forum because you don't know DSM's? Then you should probably LISTEN TO THE ADVICE WE GIVE YOU.

This made me LOL.

That's right, the stock unit is much better, now use it, recirculated.

No, your wrong, you just may not notice it. Your car is not some miracle exception to the rule, it is the same as every other one like it.

Do your research and use the resources on this forum. It will save you from possibly damaging your car and wasting more money on useless parts like sunpro a/f gauges or hard piping for the stock I/C.:banghead:

Well im glad I made you laugh but that don't change the fact this is not my first rodeo buddy and im reading what you have to say I just want to do something different is that to hard to understand you say hard piping is useless that maybe but this website even says to do it in the tech/upgrade paths and its still better than that dry rotted crap I had before I was going to just replace the stock rubber lines but no one could get them for me and there an't a dealer no ware close I know I looked... Iv been at this for most of my life so please trust that I mite just know what im doing

And ill let you in on a little secret iv learned from my mini mini years working on cars... They all mite be different but it don't matter if its from 1969 or 2009 there all the same they all work under the same principal they all do the same things when somethings not right and be leave me or not its true they just took the carb. and jet screws off and replaced them with an ECU and injectors thats it

And you can cuss at me all you want... Every time I join a new forum there's always someone that thinks im a retard for doing what I decide to do but I work at it and work at it till what I want works and every one wonders how the hell I got it to work but its never really that hard just alot of head scratching

Let me give you an example in story form here's a 91 CRX HF I used to own I picked it up for $600 it was rusty, the motor spun a bearing, and all for wheels were locked up BUT it was $600 and it come with a D16A1 motor in the trunk after a week of working on it 2or3 hours after I got home from work at 2am the motor was in and the car ran grate then for no other reason other thin I wanted to I picked up a cheap ebay intake manifold and I don't just mean cheap I mean China sweat shop cheap thats the kind of POS were talking about

301552_250655964974619_5782661_n.jpg

I mean look at this POS
268526_224611654245717_4324722_n.jpg

None of the bolt holes lined up I had to drill new holes for the t.body the welds were so thick that you could not get the bolts for the flange started and had to be ground down and there was no ware near enuff vacuum fittings... And every one and I mean every one told me to throw it in the trash

188249_234109776629238_2337272_n.jpg

But I didn't throw it away I worked at it I drilled new holes, I ground down welds, I cleaned, I re-taped holes, I got new vacuum fittings, and I got a vacuum block

298237_245799145460301_5748074_n.jpg

And when it was all said and done it worked good and that little POS of a CRX with its little under powered non-vtec 1.6L at the end of the day accuracy ran down a new Civic with a K20 in the highway

P.S. that Sunpro A/F gauge is just something to fill the hole till I have more money id like to get a AEM boost gauge and wideband but my job don't give me the hours I need to buy such a thing so a $25 Sunpro gauge will work for now if nothing else it will look pretty

I didn't read that wall of text or the pictures you cited to prove your point, that you fixed an intake manifold on a honda, so therefore you know what you are doing. By now you know you need to re-circulate your BOV. If you don't want to, don't. But don't try to prove that it isn't any better to do so than to not do so. Because it isn't working. I'm trying to help, but you seem too bullheaded to accept that you aren't right. :ohdamn:

That would be the German in me LOL... The only point im trying to make is

That I know what it is im doing
I know what it is I want
And I know were it is im going with it

It may seem sometimes like I don't but thats just because I don't have alot of money right now and half to take very small steps that mite even look like im going backwards sometimes

And I understand that you guys know what your talking about thats all iv got no plans on getting into a pissing match over a $7 peace of aluminum

So in the mean time smile and wave and if it blows up thin just say I told you so you guys don't need to keep telling me the same thing

Sorry if it seem like im getting pissy but it seems like every time I join a new forum every one seems to think im stupid and I need to prove that I know what im doing all I ask it that you guys trust that Iv got some idea what im doing and if iv got a ??? ill ask thats it :thumb:

Guess I should clarify where it is im coming from iv grown up with cars my hole live iv been around hot rods and muscle car for as long as I can remember there has always been a car to work on even now im working on 1of780 1967 AMC Rebel SST convertibles that belongs to my dad and ever sins the day I could walk iv had old school mechanics and new school mechanics training me to be a mechanic its just a way of life and I very rarely ever find a problem I cant fix iv been into the Honda seens the first Fast and furious movie and fine tuned my craft in the dark days of the tuner seen were body kits and 17" rims were the norm but iv had alittle bet of every thing Civic's, Integra's, Camaro's, Firebird's, Escort's, Fiero's, Eclipse's, Probe's at this point iv owned well over 40 cars iv even had a Porsche at one time a cheap rusty Porsche but it was still a Porsche not because the didn't work but because after I fix them I trade them off because after there fixed there's really nothing for me to do... I mean this is literately what I do for fun I buy some beat up POS that no one wants and I fix it thin trade it off for the next POS its not good for my wallet but its just what I do... I eat/drink/sleep/live cars

So after spending most of my life working on cars knee deep in oil fixing the crap no one else can or will you can imagine that having people think that I don't know what im doing don't set to well with me... Ill ask if I don't know or if im not sheer and if something don't work ill tweak and tune till it dose its just what I do

The other gauge come in today

1004430_598584716848407_402313684_n.jpg

Ill wire them up later after I pick up some nice wire covers

Your gauges are worse than I thought, and an aem boost gauge would be a perfect, equally useless, yet way more expensive replacement.

Don't call me buddy.

They did a lot more than "take the carb and jet screws off and replace them with an ecu and injectors" yoh should have learned that in your "mini mini years working in cars"

I never cussed at you.

Fixing a honda like that does not qualify you for anything except maybe food stamps.

I don't really care I don't know why I ever did in the first place. But that other guys right and there's nothing I can say or post to get any kind of point across........Yes I could of sit here for hours on end typing in all the differences between MPFI, TBI, 4bbl, 2bbl, coils packs, and dizzys, whatever and how they are different but work under the same principals but I thought id keep it simple I mean who the hell on a DSM forum would ever care about fine tuning a 78 Camaro or a 00 Corolla nobody thats not why there here so im sorry to disappoint ill try to do better next time.......So in the mean time go ahead make fun of my cheap gauges and my crappy gauge pods I don't care what ever makes you happy iv got more impotent things to spend my money on then some project car I don't really drive any way... SO MOVING ON

Pulled the intercooler piping back off to paint them black for a stealth look :ninja: I also got the factory 1g BOV off with out destroying the gasket so ill be putting that back on I just don't got the money for the one that I want AND iv been thinking about trading/selling her off for something new so im looking into re-circulating the BOV more for re-sell than anything so a DSM guy looking at it wont be scared off... If it will ever stop raining ill put it back together and snap a pic... LOL I guess its not going to look to stealthy with them blue pipe fittings ;)

Piping painted black, Factory BOV re-installed, BOV re-circulated, Ssssshhhhh't sound gone :(

This is a bit of a long story and has nothing to do with my Eclipse or DSM but its worth telling and you should get a laugh out of it as "Well I hope you do" LOL

One on my friends showed up the other day hes the kind of friend that only shows up when he wants something and I was right he just traded a "Nice" grate running Olds Alero for some run down rusty POS Dodge Dakota 4X4 that he now owes $3500 on WTF

This would not be a problem (or my problem I should say) except for the man has no mechanical skills what so ever

So any way he shows up and says his radiator is leaking and for once hes willing to pay for the job OK so we pull the old one out and I find that the front of the radiator is covered in water JB Weld and he put 2 hole eggs in it as well to keep it from leaking so the hole driver side of the radiator was plugged up with cooked egg

"For those of you that don't know if you got a small leak in your radiator putting a egg or part of a egg in your radiator is an old skool trick to seal it long enough to get your car/truck to a near by repair shop... It wont work on big holes and is NOT to drive around for 2 weeks like nothings wrong like this dumb ass"

So we go get a used radiator at the junkyard because hes only got $108 to pay me, pay for gas, get the part, and all the other stuff so we get there and look over 15 or so Dodge trucks of about the same year and only fine 2 in the hole damn yard that are the same so we get the radiator and we go back and install it

At this point after all this work I find out the f**ker only whats to give me $20 so I told him ether pay up or take the damn thing the a repair shop so the little shit jokingly offered me $25 I did get him to pay me $30 but it was all he had but its like a damn joke to him "The days of me spending hours and hours working on his busted shit for free are long gone"

SO moving on we get the radiator in and the coolant is coming out as fast as I can poor it in but not from the radiator its coming from the water neck so I ask him WTF and after asking a few time he finally told me him and another guy changed the thermostat

I started to unbolt the water neck and he says be careful with the bolts I ask why he did not answer so I asked again finally he tells me that they broke a bolt off and had to drill and tap it

OK so I get the water neck off and this is what I find there is a broken bolt witch is still in the hole what they did is drill a new hole right beside it and tap that

But the problem is that the broken bolt is sticking up about 3or4mm or so and it couldn't sit flush and even if it was when they drilled the new hole it moved the water neck over enough so that it was over the edge and flowing right onto the manifold

(The only smart thing they did was use sealant on the gasket BUT it was only on the top of the gasket and none was on the bottom where it would of needed to be to have any chance of sealing against that broken bolt)

SO I cleaned up all the sealant witch was alot and where the hole was for the broken bolt I got the dremel out and basically moved the hole over so it would line up with the new blot hole they drilled and keep the water neck lined up with the intake I then ground down the outer lip on the water neck so the bolt wouldn't catch on it so after I got all done with that I took the dremel out to the truck and ground down the broken bolt so it would sit flush at this point I found that they they had used some more of that water JB Weld around the water neck witch I had to pick off

SO I got it all back together and no leaks

At this point I tell him to run it around the block a few times and thin we'll check the fluid SO WHAT DOSE HE DO he don't take it around the block O NO he takes this truck that we haven't even tested and runs across town on a 30 min joy ride to pick up a girl and by the time he got back of course it to hot to check

BUT it did not over heat so I told him to keep an eye on the temp and check the coolant in the morning

Now you think that would be the end of my story but O NO after leaving my house I get a call where this little shit took this poor truck I just got done fixing and ran strate over to one of his friend and try's to talk this guy into hooking a chain up and going axle to axle WTF

LOL Well I hope you enjoyed my little story this friend of mine dose crap like that all the time normally it pisses me off but sometimes I got a good story to share

SOLD!!!

I sold the car a little earlier today to a kid about 1 1/2 hours south of me I simply did not have the funds to fix the car with the trans grinding in 1st, needing valve seals, and now the oil pump starting to take a sh*t it was best to just move on and let someone with more money take her on

The kid text me on his way home to tell me the trans was stuck in 5th gear sounds like it was a good thing I got rid of it
