:). 4G64 split thrust block. Bored .020 over. Wiseco 1400HD "stroker" pistons 9:1 compression, BC 156mm "long" rods. Balanced stock 4G64 crank, check balls pulled and galleys cleaned and blocked off. ARP Main studs w/ line hone. King Race Bearings(rod and main), BS bearings spun 180* for BS delete. Deck is a little dirty, but this motor was built by BogusSVO himself. Should push the weight of Buzzkill around pretty nicely. :D

Today was an awesome day. Did some work pulling the old engine out of the Talon and disassembling it because the machinist required a core. Along the way I discovered some things. One, the engine has burnt and caked on gunk/sludge REALLY bad like the pictures show. This was awesome for me to see because originally I planned on just throwing a good crank in it and going...but the sludge was in the oil pump, front cover, bearings, windage tray, crank, head, cams, etc. There was no saving this motor by just putting a good crank in it. Lol.

Two, was that while pulling what I THOUGHT was the T25 off...I discovered it's a Big T28! I was so ecstatic seeing that/finding it out.

Three, after I pulled the head off, I discovered its an Evo 3 block and head as well. Haha. It's going to the machine shop as a core but it's still cool to find this out.

All in all, amazing day today. Blessings all over.

Got the engine back from BogusSVO today, and blew out all the coolant/oil jackets and blew out the cylinders/oiled everything down. Also took the obligatory pictures of the rods/pistons and mains/crank. So purty.

Also, I took the exhaust manifold off my T28 today and found a nice little FP stamp(It's extremely hard to see in the pictures...not sure why). It's an FP Big28 and it's in brand new shape(minus a little rust from sitting) so I'm not selling it, I'm keeping this baby. Good day today!

So after some suggestions and research I took a green scotch bright pad and some WD40 to the surface of my deck and went to down. I removed a lot of the surface rust and the surface itself still feels smooth as glass. There is some slight discoloration there still, but I trust the surface. It shines a teeny bit better than before too, so that's a bonus. :)

Added a few pics of the interior of ol' buzzkill. Nothing has been washed in like 3.6 million years, but man this interior is comfy. I love my 1Gs, but I can see why people like 2Gs. It's very cushy and comfortable compared to my 1G.

The pictures:

Picked up some BogusSVO goodness yesterday on my lunch break at work. Stock valves that have been unshrouded, oil port mod #1, BC1100 springs and retainers, EGNBLDR 3mm 'big bore' lifters, all that good stuff. Locals get the best deals. ;)

Good stuff. More to come as I get it.

Bought a whole crap ton of parts to get the built 2.4 longblock assembled and running. Rockauto had some incredible deals on accessory belts and small stuff that I couldn't pass up. Also I purchased a transmission rebuild kit from them, and to my surprise...it contains borgwarner clutches and steels! With a 5-disk front clutch that kiggly sells. I was overjoyed to see that. Paid $167 for it minus $660 for IPT's rebuild kit.

So soon as whatever is going on with my back is done, I'll be taking a whole host of pictures and progress updates as I rebuild the transmission and replace the transmission fluid pump. More to come from Project Buzzkill and the Forum/Keyboard Cowboy. ;) :p

Fun times ahead. Transmission rebuild parts are all finally assembled. Overhaul kit, IPT restalled TC, fresh transmission pump(plus I picked up a spare just in case! Lol). So finally the transmission will be all nice and purty and working again. This was the old pump.

Yeah. Groovy. Literally. Lol.

From here though I've got the ARP headstuds, gaskets, and random stuff I need to get the motor all assembled as well. Soon she'll run and drive, God willing!! Also went ahead and ordered an LC2 wideband w/ blue DB gauge, and a blue digital boost gauge from Glowshift(worth a shot and it matches). I'm really the most excited about the IPT torque converter and stuff though. Stay tuned for more updates and assembly pictures.

Oh don't we all like putting items on top of the stove-top that doubles as a counter, its priceless to see the looks on family, and or friends faces when they see stuff like this on top of the stove LOL

Looks like another good solid talented job from bogus :thumb:.
and great progress man, doing a good job so far.

ROFL Seriously, biggest flat space on the freakin' counter is the stove. Annoying really. :p

Thanks a bunch man. It's been a slow process but it's coming together. :)

My birthday's in two days, and I've ordered a ton of parts this past Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, so parts have already started rolling in so it's beginning to really feel like my birthday! I had my buddy in Panama City, Mr. @v8s_are_slow sent me a crank pulley fo' free, but that's not pictured because it's boring. :p

But this came in today. Slightly less boring because it's new in bag!

Stainless oil feed line from OFH to turbo, and new O2 sensor. Can't wait for the fun parts to start coming in!

Good luck with your build! I have a similar setup in the works thru bogus, 2.4 long rod in my 98 auto gsx hopefully running a ts hx40 or gt35r within a few months when im back from work. My main concern is the timing side with a 63 head on 64 block

Timing side is easy peasy. Just use the proper year 4G63 timing pullies and tensioner/etc, with the exception of using DOHC 4G64 cam gears, and a 94 Galant DOHC 2.4 timing belt to match. You can find someone locally with the DOHC '64 cam gears, and use them to mark your '63 cam gears as well and you're done.

Good luck with all of this. You know my situation though so keeping quiet in here for now ;)

Thanks Scott! :p

Also, stuff is getting a little more interesting this go around. Trans temp gauge came in(and door handle with a solid thick tab instead of flimsy aluminum like the ebay door handles)

As well as these goodies from ExtremePSI!

Fully assembled forged 2.4L long rod longblock picture porn coming soon!

Man sick build you got going on. Keep doing what your doing, I want to see the end result!
PS that boost gage is sick IMO. And Happy Birthday!

Definitely appreciate the well wishes/positive words. :) I'm not out to break the mold or anything, I just am after a clean, well put together, 'quick' DSM that still retains all the class and comfort of a legit street car. A/C, power steering, 'decent' sound system(just good speakers and a headunit, nothing crazy), and cushy leather. I look forward to posting more pictures of the complete interior and the obligatory driving pictures once it's running. Lol.

Today was hot as hell, so there was limited progress...HOWEVER...there was some progress made today!!

Head is on the block, ladies and gentlemen, it's finally coming together! I just need to run on over to BogusSVO's shop to grab a set of stock cams, and this bad boy will be timed, and all accessories will be installed and ready to go. Build long-rod 2.4L goodness!!

Looking good.

What are the details on the head gasket?

What are the details on the head gasket?

It's just your regular 4G64 head gasket. My bore is 87mm so a regular '63 gasket would hang in the cylinder a bit. The '64 gasket is 88mm so it doesn't hang in the cylinders. There's a member here running mid 30 psi on an FP black using this hg is what made me go with it.
