Yes 2g transmissions bolt to 1g engines. You will need a transmission from a 1995-1999 eclipse or talon.' Fwd turbo assuming you have a 1999 gst. Awd transmission will not work if you have a fwd.

Any 95-99 w5m33 trans will work. Just make sure you use a 97-99 transfer case!

If the car is fwd and you have an awd trans, use a vce and it will work in the fwd car!

The OP doesn't state if he's FWD or AWD but from the signature it sounds like he's FWD although the comment about the AWD tranny has me confused as he states "what if it's AWD" . Well....if the car is AWD it has to be an AWD tranmission. OP you do know an AWD transmission doesn't work in a FWD car without modification? What exactly do you need?

sorry if i confused u guys bout the awd drive stuff, mine is 99 gst. im used to working on v8 transmissions in which u can jus change the tail on them and use them either way. so then again i can bolt up a 2nd gen tranny to my 6 bolt 99 gst right???

what do u mean by making sure i use a 97-99 transfer case?

You need a 95-99 FWD Transmission.

Not so much 1G and 2G, but more like 6 bolt and 7 bolt since we're dealing with motors themselves ..

...with the 2G were turbo only with the 4G63.

NT's (or, the base and GS line) got the NEON 420A motor and Chrysler built trannies-both manual and automatic.

All 4g63 clutches are the same. Flywheels are a different story like mentioned, but 1g, 2g, 6-bolt, 7-bolt, AWD, and FWD all share the same clutch.

If you have a 6bolt swap you need a fwd 6 bolt flywheel.
