How many DSM's were produced?

I'm looking for numbers on how many DSM's were produced in certain model years just for useful information and to see how rare this cars are. I'm look for how many 1g's were made, how many 2g's were made, and how many of each gen were gst, gsx, tsi, and tsi awd. Im not sure if there are exact numbers but an estimate would be okay too.

Ok, I'm not sure how accurate this is but it was taken out of Wikipedia (Diamond-Star Motors) I think it relates more to how much vehicles where produce at the production facility in Normal, Illinois. Hope it helps.

They only made Black Cherry Talons in 90, I know because I have one too!

It's not. These cars have many attributes, rarity isn't one of them. This can also be considered a good thing when buying parts. If you want rare get a 96 stealth tt, or a 98-99 3000gt vr4. But, prepare to spend crazy money just for wear items.

Production isn't a problem with these cars now. It's more of how great of a condition it is. Try finding a stock 98- 99 2g gst or gsx reguardless of miles... i guess you can call that rare. I search california for 1 year and only came across as much as my finger can count that are stock but raped with hella miles.

What this guy said. Try finding a turbo dsm that doesn't have any issues, or added rice.

If it was stock and esp. leather. You can call that rare. Esp. if it's a gsx. You can say quality over quantity...

There were 360 stealths made in 1996, and 57 1996 stealth awd twin turbo cars. I had a chance to get a 98 talon awd, and would jump on it if given the chance again.

I think because the venture of co op with plymouth and the other companys ended. The car body stopped but the motor carried on.

So it was not due to them being bad cars, I know they take work but dang they are fast and fun. Heck even the evo's run 4g63T well not the new evo 10, but running 4g63T from 1990 to 2009 thats got to say something about that motor!

They only made Black Cherry Talons in 90, I know because I have one too!

I agree rare is not always good. My 90 gsx has so many single year parts it’s maddening. Making the most of it, though. It might end up worth something one day, but only if anybody remembers what it even is. Back in their heyday there were n/t’s in rental fleets!
