Boost was at 26psi, air-fuels were left a little rich they do lean out when the car is on the road and moving air into the turbo inlet. you can definitely feel a power increase when the air is being force into the turbo. feels closer to 460 470 on the street. Timing was left very low i ran out of time on the dyno 9* max timing

Tach pick up was not working on the dyno, this was on twin 248 dynojet. Very heavy Drums.

Not sure it's as applicable as it's in an Evo but my results were 469 hp and 380 lb ft on a mustang dyno that's notorious for reading low (logged the runs and verified Virtual Dyno measured the same within 2-3 HP). This was early summer/late spring. 32 psi and E85 running in the high 10's-low 11's for AFR. I didn't have time to finish the E85 tune before the pulls unfortunately. It was very last minute. Virtual Dyno had me pegged at 519 and 450something once it was fully tuned. Full boost was hitting around 4800 RPM but got progressively worse over the summer. I found I had a partially frozen open wastegate and that's been replaced.
Relevant power mods are:

Stock 2.0
8 blade HX35
Ebay wastegate
SSautochrome T3 mani
Custom downpipe and O2 housing
Comp 280 cams
speed density conversion
PTE 1200's
double pumper
3" turbo back

It's off the road for a few more days while I get the new 4G64 in and hopefully I'll get some HX35 numbers before the HX40 goes on at the end of winter.

Hit the track tonight with my 8 blade HX35.
Turbo: 8 blade hx35 with the stock t3 divided backhousing.
Engine: Eagle/weisco 9:1 comp 6 bolt. Stock 2g head/intake manifold with BC272s and dual valve springs
Fuel: 1600's with one rewired pump. e85
Tuning: speed density with DSMlink.
Drivetrain: stock FWD 220k mile tranny with an ACT 2600
Suspension: tein S-tech springs with 26x9x16 QTPs
Boost: 34 spike settling to 30.

Went 11.4@125 short shifting the 1-2 shift. The car is FWD. Drove it 80 miles to the track and 80 miles home:)

update on the results.

Same setup with more boost went 10.98@134 and 11.0@138.

Suppose I should post up my results since the seasons over :)

7 blade HX35 with the stock 12cm^2 turbine housing and MIG welded twin scroll manifold
Stock 6 bolt(7.8:1) rebuilt 15k ago
264/272 HKS
Cleaned/blended head port castings
Single 255
1000's and E85
38mm wastegate divided until the base of the valve

Shakedown passes at the '10 shootout and 25 psi yielded an 11.2@126 shifting in to 5th followed by an 11.2@129 revving out 4th. Both runs on street tires with a mid then high 1.7 60'. Car weighed about 3050 with me in it and a low tank

Eventually made my way to a dyno and got the boost up to about 30 psi with a set of 1200's. 494whp/471tq. The little spike was about 32 psi settling back down to 30 or 31. On the street it hits 30 psi at about 3500 in 3rd and 3200-3300 or so in 4th but it is what it is. 5th will experience compressor surge since it comes on right at 3k in this current 20* weather.

Hoping for 130 traps and 500whp on a dynojet but not quite this year... Never got back to the track with the current 30psi. 20 degrees peak at 7k and ~12:1 afr, 19 degrees peak with 30psi. I will see what a 272 intake cam does for the drop off in power next year.

The turbo falls off after 6500 RPM, my 5031 actually had more top end and it was only rated at 44 lbs/min. I think the bolt on housing was really limiting it.

I picked 2 points that yeilded the same psi(27.7) in each gear as a reference. Any higher psi and the wastegate was slowly opening so it skewed the results. Boost was set at 29-30 psi.

Basic run down in each gear(psi vs rpm) rounded to the nearest .5psi and 50 rpm

New time of 12.2 @ 123 w/ a crappy 2.1 60'. I'm still running an ACT 2100 w/ a sprung 6-puck ceramic disc that slips badly if I launch the car hard. I'm still on the stock never rebuilt bottom end from '90 and the turbo is a bolt-on hx40 pro. Remember that Utah is at a high elevation and cars don't run as fast up here. I'm running 14 deg of total timing on E85 w/ a single Walbro. I'll post pics of my timeslips later.

Changes:
DSMLink upgrade to V3 with speed density and integrated boost control. Adjusted Cam gears. Built a new 4" intake, and upped the boost to 32-33psi.

This is our base tune for our salt car. This is super conservative versus a drag racer. This motor has to live for five miles run after run.

Videos below of our tuning session. Looking to land in impound after the first round this coming sasturday.

Drivetrain Modifications:
RAXLES (Front), Rebuilt AWD Tranny Stage 2 TMZ, ACT2900 w/ southbend TZ/FE disk

Results: The ET was only a 12.1 with a trap speed of 121. I could not stick a good launch and spun in first unless the car was babied out of the hole. If the boost in 1st hit 20lbs it would start to spin. The 12.1 pass had a 2.077 60'.

Its been a while, so I thought id give an update to post #27. I had a major engine fire that destroyed the car. I salvaged what i could from it and built another car similar to the old one, but its a slightly different setup. Surprisingly, the turbo was undamaged and im still using it.

P235/60-15 M&H on Drag DR-17s for the track

I just started to get the bugs worked out of it and get the launches figured out with the auto. The tune is still far from optimal and im running really low timing until I get all of the bugs worked out. I was having a real hard time getting a good launch because my brake pads didnt have enough cold bite to hold back the car to allow it to build enough boost at the line, so it was real stagnant up until 30mph then it would spool and go. A few weeks ago I realized this was the problem and changed to a semi-metallic instead of a ceramic pad. This allowed me to hold more power at the line. Last week I made it back to the track. With a little tweeking, I was able to leave the line with 25psi. I made the mistake of thinking I wouldnt need to bring my slicks with me due to how poorly the previous launches had been. With the street tires, is was spinning quite a bit in 1st. Even with the traction issues, it still ran 11.43@122 with a 1.94 60' at 29psi.

This weekend I went back with the slicks for the last day of the year for the track. My second pass netted 10.95@122 with a 1.59 60' again at 29psi. My next pass went 10.97@122 with a 1.58 60'. The setup has a lot left in it. Hopefully next year ill be able to start turning up the boost and timing.

Took my car to the track this past sunday. first pass was 13.0 second pass was 12.9 This is my first track outing in about 3 years and the first time this car has been raced at a track. I also have to work on the chassis/suspension for limiting straps and drop more weight out of the car. It weighed 2960 with me in it during the race. The log I have posted is from the first pass. the second pass I didn't have enough time to turn on the laptop. I leaned it out, took away timing, and upped launch control for the second pass.

Forgot to update the results here. This is Dave's results running one of my 7-blade HX40's that had a BatMoWheel installed following his Bullseye Power sponsorship. Turbo has a .70 a/r T3 Bullseye turbine housing.

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drag-strip/416444-talondave-batmowheel-hx40-goes-9s.html

9.67 @ 150.65 on a shitty 1.8x 60ft. This was done with a horribly-undersized Buschur intercooler gaining 60*f by the end of the run. Car will lose an easy 4 or 5/10's with a better 60ft and a better intercooler

Previous best from my 6-blade HX40 he was running prior was 10.02 @ 145.07 with a synchro trans and a leaking DeJon intercooler.

A quote from the tuner regarding the performance of the BatMoWheel:

his old 6-blade pro would actually flow more at the same RPM's...

Comparing logs between the Batmowheel and the 6 blade pro...the 6 blade had a higher load factor, and airflow and IDC at any given rpm... the only time the batmowheel showed 70+ lb/min was above 9000 rpm ..and I dont have any logs of Dave's 6 blade pro at that high of RPM for comparison ..

My honest observation is the 6 blade pro and the Batmowheel are flowing damned near identical if you do a little factoring for the difference in IAT's.

Finally, I have a time slip worth showing!! Planed on going to englishtown today but when got there it was closed due to bad weather:hmm:, it was sunny and 50 degrees! So I said fudge it and drove the car all the way to acto, got there and was told I had 15min toget in the staging lanes before they closed. Went to ad 2-3 degress of timing up top but I left my laptop on for the whole drive :ohdamn: so it was as dead as a stone. Set the boost at 36-37 and just ran with it, after a 2 hour drive I was running it LOL. 10.4 not bad for pump and a lil meth with only 12* of timing up top:thumb:

That puts me in second with the dsm holsets and third overall with the holsets( theres an evo in the 10.3s) but I know theres more in it. Ive got to thank Justin for helping me get the turbo and helping me with the oiling, but also recently tg porting, he ports alot of heads for big companies, not gonna blow there spots up but since dogbox is out of bussiness he did all there heads including the 8sec evo, and 9.0talon. Between going t3 and the head port and matching the STOCK 1G INTAKE to it I picked up alot. I dont know exactly what I gained because I wasent able to add any timing and etown wouldnt give me a slip last year. I really have to put a cage in the car, Im glad atco is very leaniate with the rules but for my own safety I have to get it done!

I know i don't have dyno or timeslips results but i read in another thread for people to post up anyway relevant to spooltimes and such.I'll also attach a recent log of 1-2-3or 3rd gear to redline (whatever i can find on the laptop)

turbo H1c with Hx40 8 blde 58mm wheen with 83mm exducer (in a self machined .63 a/r T3 5 bolt housing, on T3 turbonetics manifold, 3" DP and cat-back ( I call it the H1-3558X)

engine 6 bolt, 9:1 wiseco's, eagle H-beams, ACL bearings, BC springs and retainers, DKS 264/272 cams, plain jan e ARP's

Trans OEM 5 speed AWD, ACT 2600 with RPS disk

management Haltech E6x, AFR's mid 12's

timing 14-15* at peak torque to 17-19* at peak RPM

Boost level 28psi peak (mostof the timeabout 26psi) [/B]

spool Time IN 3rd i can hit excess of 20psi by 4k RPM starting at 3200 RPM- 5th gear i have have the gate open before 4k RPM at 25+ PSI

(MY previouse best on a garrett 57 trim in the same hot housing was 438hp/396 lb/ft and this makes that feel slow!)

EDIT: UPDATE... Lifted the head the other night at 32psi (found a semi-loose stud but not sure it was the issue) The area where i made the pull is an abandoned strip of road no longer used (old highway that was replaced and is a closed course of sorts, no one gets in trouble for "test-n-tune work" there as it's now a grey area of private property since the new highway is way off the "easement area" of this stretch.. now with that out of the way.. there's been a 1/4mile marked off there for a long time and after having fixed the car i've brought myself to look at the log from that night. To the best of my ability of judging the RPM vs. Speed where i passed the white line and lifted the throttle i was going right around 127mph at the end of the 1320 stretch, I bogged the launch all to hell but i wasn't there to pull a test just taking a guy for a ride where i could safely pull these speeds without traffic or consequence. The length of the data log from when i let off the 2-step and bogged (was only half throttle) to the point where i lifted was right around 11.5 seconds, no doubt the car is MOVING this was with 2 people with a combined weight of 450 lbs, 50+ lbs of tools in the trunk, stereo system, spare tire & jack, adn whatever else was in the back at the time LOL ..I really can't wait to get someofficial time slips or dyno pulls up[ but everytime i get a apsre dollar the car breaks LOL or a bill is late LOL......... I'll uplkoad this log later today when i get the laptop out

According to datalogs the 70-90 times are ranging from 1.2 - 1.5 seconds depending on how i get on the gas, be it froma low 3rd gear pull or after an upshift from 2nd

EDIT: To see true AFR's cut and past this formula into row "K" at the same point where the heading/labels for the other colums are (thejn hit enter and it should read "value", ) then drag point to the lower right corner of that cell, click and drag down to the length of the data log this will give the converted value of the 0-5v signal into the AFR reading that would have been on the AEM sensor
=SUM((f4/1000)*2+10)
