Ok so I looked to see where the sensors are and i have a crank sensor at the bottom. and found a cas on the driver side under the intake cam pully. should the cas be on the passangers side like the 1gs. my car is a 95 2g with a 7 bolt engine

Both the '95 and '96 engines have the CAS behind the intake cam gear. This is normal.

Behind the gear itself (where the timing belt rides).

It would allow you to adjust timing. But it would also cause a random misfire code, which can be quite annoying if not dealt with properly (certain programs can fix this as well as adding in a potentiometer). You can do some searching to find out more about this.

Yep, that program would allow you to not see that misfire code.
