Appearance/Interior/Exterior - All interior and exterior tech discussions; body and paint, conversions, lighting, washing, waxing, etc.
It wouldn't hurt the amp I don't think, but get high temp paint.
As for painting the amp, the paint would act like a blanket. The heat wouldnt disipate as good. This could lead to the amp going in to a thermal overload. Again, bad idea.
If you dont like the color, get another brand.

proper design can prevent that.
in addition they have tests where they drop bowling balls in the trunk to seee endurance.
don't diss all bandpass boxes, if they are made for the sub, they have the potential of sounding great, but the cheap boxes that you buy will have a 99.999999% chance of sounding like sh**.
As for painting the cone, just like everyone else, it's not a good idea.
As for the amp, if it is aluminum, get it anodized (sp?). It will disipate heat great.
There is a vid floatin around with a guy that built a bandpass box with a 6" or 2 6" subs that sound like 15"s. It's in a golf if i remember right
get some grills.
