Build Thread Update*** 8/6/2016
Quick Overview of this thread.
-Page 1-13 After 4 years of building my 97 GSX, I made 510hp on 93pump using a PTE6262 running a 2.3L stroker motor, on a DynoDynamics Dyno. Drove it a bunch, and broke T-case's and other parts.

-Page 13 Sold the GSX and bought an EVO 9.

-Page 14-15 Finished college. Sold my Evo, and bought a house in 2015.

-Page 14-15 Cont.. Fast forward to March 2016. I was made aware that my old GSX was for sale. Talked to the owner, and I tried to buy it back. Unfortunately that deal fell through, and someone offered him more $$$. New owner of the GSX is in Southern VA. Great guy, I am happy the car ended up with someone like him. Then it hit me, I did miss the DSM community some. I Jumped back on Tuners, got up-to-date on all the changes. Uploaded a lot of missing pictures from when i started this thread. And now I am on the Hunt for a new Build. Looking for a 99 GSX with Black interior. Looking to build a Street, Drag, Roll Race Car.

It is a great time to own a DSM. Records are being broken, New parts and turbo tech is available. Making more power is much easier. Plus some new AERO options that weren't available back in 2012.

OLD BUILD Thread INFO: 2009-2013
Well this story starts off by me saying i bleed DSM ... so after selling my 95 gst a year ago i realized i couldn't live without a DSM in my Drive way.. so my quest for my new money pit began!!!

As of yesterday i am the Proud owner of a Silver 97 gsx shelll.. i found it here on tuners classifieds after searching everyday on here for the last 3 months; the car was in Rhode Island, about 9 hours from where i live in Va. From start to finish i clocked about 1100 miles and 18 hrs Props to Justin Good (turbo1307) for the use of his trailer.. i owe ya!

I bought the shell it From a guy named Brad (SFracinggst)? all i have to say is brad is one hell of a good guy. went above and beyond what i would expect of any seller to do, thanks again man! your baby has a good new home. keep in touch

My initial plan for this build is a fully functional strip/ street car, with the occasional track weekend...

Hey guys thought i give you an update haven't had much time to work on the bullet; but what i have gotten done i'm happy with

a lot of the interior metal pieces were rusted and i couldn't stand it so i sanded them down and re sprayed them.

also i have refresh a couple of my interior plastic pieces thanks to DSM_PWR DIY write up in his build..

The next thing on the list is

1.refreshing the interior pieces.. ans scrubbing the floor
2. removing the sound deadening material.
3. Remove Drive and passenger air bag/ i plan to put the fuse box in there
4.cleaning my carpet and respraying it black.. DSM_PWR that zep high traffic works amazing
5. and see what kind of cage setup i want to go with

well, i was just wondering what they go for near you in that condition, and because i just finished up a 2g awd, so i,m in the market for my NEXT project

oh no prob. ya thats what i got mine for; great deal i think. only issue with the car i found is a leaky sunroof

Thought i give you guys an update on my interior refreshing project...
1. Driver side airbag removed
2. Shift plate resprayed black
3.two other random interior pieces that were fairly rusted

p.s i really want a sandblast cabinet now, and im going ot start looking on how to powder coat haha

hey guys thought i throw you and update..

carpet has been cleaned, and sprayed black.. if anyone has doubts about the Dupli-color fabric spray paint, it worked out great deff recommend it.

the blue m3 in my profile pic is my dream car after college . But that is my r6, and my daily is a 2002 Nissan altima..

Idk about spray painting carpet. It definitely won't be a natural carpet feel anymore.

i had the same thought, and when it drys its a lil rough but i just took a clean dust pan brush and wiped the carpet down. now its almost as smooth as it was before i painted it..

plus i rarely ever bend down and feel my carpet..

Hey not much to update about, tho i thought i would share some pics of the interior as of now

- as of now i have removed all of the front interior panels to be cleaned
- starting to pull the headline to have redone in micro sued black.
- also scrubbing the shell to remove the last bits of sound deadening materiel

in the first pic you can see the black pillar.. it was completely rusted looking so i cleaned it, sprayed it black, and reinstalled it. was a pita to work with but i like how it turned out

my eclipse isnt my DD so i can go crazy on anything, and everything i want and take as much time as i need..

not having any money is the only prob iv hit in my build

*interior updates*
well my theme for the interior is mostly black, and while redoing my headliner i found out that some of the oem interior pieces only come in grey.. ect the oh shit handle bar, visor clips, and sunroof plate.......

well that's not going to work for me, so i decided to respray some of the interior pieces black.:thumb

-i think they came out well let me know what you think??

as far as the headliner i ended up not going with the micro suede since i couldnt justify paying the price, or find any with enough backing on it to give me a clean install.. so instead i had my headliner, and visor's done in knitted black material.

its the same stuff used in the 2010 Acura MDX, and TLX's enjoy the pics
