Sorry for the shawty cell pics! Better more detailed pics will be soon to come!
Haven't been on here for awhile (like a LONGGGGG while ) and since then I have gone through a hand full of cars.
2006 EVO IX rs
2005 ACR SRT-4
1992 Silvia front coupe with an sr20 swap
1995 RSTi GC8
2002 WRB WRX
2004 E-Blue SRT-4
And now I'm back to a DSM!! Whoooo! Missed the 2g love.
I recently bought a new car down in SLC.
The 1997 Eclipse GSX that I had made the trip for ending up being a piece of shit. Guy that owned it was a gubber. Claimed that the turbo seals were bad and that was the reason for all the smoke. Needless to say, the compression test said it all....That car had some serious problems. So we passed on it, met up with a buddy from SLC and had some In-N-Out.
At that point I was discouraged, couldn't find a car, made a 6 hour drive after working a 7 hour shift and getting 30mins of sleep just to find a junker ass car..
So I made a last resort check on SLC CL and found this:
It's a 1996 Eagle Talon TSi.
-Kona Blue
-97,xxx on car.
-10,xxx on 2.2 stoker
-20g
-RC 1000's
-DSM Link V3
-Thermal R&D exhaust
-Aluminum radiator
-Power FMIC
-Authentic Greddy BOV
-Prothane motor mounts
-AEM Uego
-Super clean paint and interior
-Super ### TSW turn 5 wheels
and I'm sure there's a few other things just can't think of them right now haha.
When we got to the car I was pretty stoked. It was kept in the garage, car cover over it, and extremely clean. Fired right up and sounded great. Guy was super cool and honest. Me and Zach took the car for a drive, brought it back and pulled out the cash.
This was out in front of the dude's house. First pic of ownership.
Few pics from the drive home. Zach driving along with Ryan the co-pilot
Home, sweet home.
Got it home, got some sleep then decided to get to start on some of the cosmetic things.
Typical cracking/peeling trim above the doors:
Starting to fix, that was first layer of truck bed coating. Doesn't look amazing but it'll be durable and cover all the cracking until I order new trim.
Typical shitty clear coat over anything black on a DSM:
FIXED!
Black paint was never Mitsubishi's strong suit:
FIXED!
Ass/Side shot!
Killed me to drill a hole in the front bumper </3. Better than a ticket tho.
I really need to get that damn red writing off the intercooler, looks like shit. That'll be happening right after I hit "save".
Black housing head lights, Thanks Ry-Ry.
What's that snail looking thing. Derp.
Well that's all for now. Only had it for two days and making as much progress as possible. I absolutely LOVE the car.
I'm sure it'll bring lots of hate for being a DSM, but it made it from SLC to Emmett straight driving with NO problems what-so-ever. Cruise even works!
Stay tuned for more low, more 2gb and new wheels soon! shoot, maybe I'll even post an engine bay pic! haha jk, it's dirty and cluttered.
Engine bay.
A buddy of mine (Tyson) hooked me up with some powder coating so now that blue ugly intake is wrinkle black.
With the old baby! Beauty and the beast!
Got home from school to find a weird clunking noise, was hoping it wasn't...but it sure was. Could smell the grease the second I opened my door. Assuming they're the stock original axles. Which seemed to do pretty well for their 97,xxx mile life haha.
It's okay though, already had the parts at my house a few hours later! Fixing a few small vacuum leaks tomorrow, installing new half-shaft, and giving it a bath! haha
Everythings fixed and been cruising the hell outta her! Stay tuned for more updates and goodies that I just ordered!
