Ok Ive never posted here before, so heres my story. Ive always been into DSMs; my first one was a 1991 eagle talon tsi. But that unfortunate day came I had to sell her, which was 5 yrs ago. Ive had a few n/t 2gs since then but I always had a thing for the 1g. So I just graduated from WYOTECH and one of my friends I had made while there called me up and asked if I was still looking for a 1g, I said yea. He proceeded to tell me that one of his friends uncle had a 1g Eclipse turbo that needed a hood and headlight for $1000, if I wanted to go check it out I could. A few days later I went to have a look for myself; it sat at a repair shop 30 mins from my house. Well the owner of the shop told me that someone had hit a deer with it and the insurance company totaled it, and they were going to scrap it. So he told them he would buy it. I looked the car over and it deffentally needed what my friend had told me and then some, I started it up and it seemed to run fine no knock or lifter tic. I asked if he would take $700 and to my surprise he said hed take it. A week later I got the car to my house (via buddy with a truck and trailer). I started to take out the radiator and realized the upper core support was pushed back at least 1 and ½, so I looped a cable around it and a piece of pipe and straightened it out. I then inspected the radiator it seemed to have a few bent up cooling fins, I filled it up with water and it didnt leak. Took her for a spin just down the road and it started leaking. At the moment Im waiting for a new radiator and thermostat and rad cap. My goal for the car is 300-350hp nothing major, and still be reliable. Oh I also looked in the dash and found an envelope full of repair receipts and full service records. The car had gotten a new paint job in 1998, the same woman had owned it from 1992-2010 she kept all receipts for everything and wrote down all oil change dates.
