I had my first dsm in 2003 and have been hooked ever since, I picked up this Talon in 2008 for $700 with collision damage and drove it for several years stock, I decided to build my first drag oriented dsm and this was the canvas I had to work with.
I have always wanted a bolt-on Forced Performance turbo and Extreme Turbo Systems intercooler kit, back in the day on my first dsm I had a Dejon front mount that was basically two stock sidemounts welded to endtanks with a big gap in the middle of the cores. They called it toothy because it made the dsm look like it had two big front teeth! This time around I wanted to use parts that I had only dreamed of in the past, I also wanted to ditch the manual tansmission for an automatic, I'm old and was burned out on the dsm manual transmission that I always had problems with and never really enjoyed using. So an automatic swap was a must, and I have never been to the track so I just wanted to make everything as easy as I could to be somewhat consistent as a novice.
I first stripped everything down and repaired as much body damage as I could before sending it to the professionals and eventually having a cage fabricated for it prior to paint. As you can see this is one rough Eagle! But I am not one of those people that buy 13 cars in two years and go through them like toilet paper like these hipsters now. Dedicated and determined!
