So I recently started rebuilding my 97 gst, after it sitting for like 5 years. Only 75,000 miles on the car itself. I put a lot of money into the car before and didn't have any idea what i was doing. LOL been reading a lot on this forum lately so I don't make as many mistakes as I did before. My current mods are:
Eagle 2.3 crank
Eagle h beam rods
Je pistons
Arp head studs and rod bolts
Injen intake
Greddy fmic and piping
Greddy type s bov
660 injectors
255 fp
Aem fuel rail and afpr
Dnp header
Tial 38mm wastegate
Td06h 20g ported
Intercooled nitrous
Act clutch & pp ( i don't remember if its a 2100 or 2600 its been a long time LOL)
Act light weight flywheel
Kyb agx shocks
Short throw
Apexi neo
Innovate wb
Cheapy oil pressure gauge ( which will be replaced)
Boost gauge
Greddy turbo timer
Some cheap coil overs
Front upper, rear upper and lower strut bars
Taylor 10.4 mm wires
Lw crank pully
Bs elim. Kit
Mbc
And I'm sure more that I can't think of right now LOL

As of right now i pulled the motor and tranny and just took it to a machine shop to be checked out, balanced, new bearings, rings and whatever else they see needed. I plan on assembling the rest when i get it back.

My to do list before reinstalling is:
A built tranny
Built head
Haven't decided on cams yet. Baby steps for now LOL
Ecm link v3 lite
New mounts
All new gaskets pumps and pulleys of course
Probably 1200cc inj. Or bigger and hx40 later on. Unsure about a/r and header still. Oh and 3" exhaust with punisher dp. Haven't decided on cat back brand yet either.

I'll download pics in the next few days when I get to a computer. Its kinda hard on a phone.

I would like to also thank you'll for the help and good advice on this forum. It's making this build a lot easier with all the info. Y'all rock :hellyeah:

Will download some more pics next time I'm on a computer. Had a collapsed piston so it's gonna be bored .040 over with some wiseco 9:1s. Everything else checked out good. Head is being built by magnus and should be done sometime in the next few weeks. Got a new ecm link v3 light, avid 75 motor mounts, oil pump, timing belt kit, innovate oil psi and oil temp, water pump, fluids and a bunch of random bolts and gaskets. Only thing I still need is a head gasket and to send my tranny to shep. :D I'm ready to start putting this sucka together.

Some of my progress. Can't wait to start putting the engine in. As of right now I'm still waiting on a head from Magnus. Which I sent and paid for in march.

Decided to inspect my turbo and confirm it was a td06h. I'm learning tons on this build. I love it.

I had the hump in the middle removed and reupholstered. My nitrous bottle mounts right there. I also had the part they took out reupholstered so when I take the mounting brackets off I can put it in.

It was over 6 months. Ups lost it and they said they was having trouble finding someone to do the cnc port on the replacement head. I received the head missing lots of pieces and a bunch of stuff wasn't what I wanted. They shipped most of my stuff like rockers lifters cas hiav. For my trouble they gave me a smim for free. I would say they are unorganized but really try to do well. Maybe short staffed? Idk I will definitely go somewhere else in the future.

Interior is back in and it looks a 1000 times better. Some simple green, a pressure washer and some fabric paint done wonders.:thumb:

Got some new goodies in today. I'm so excited to put everything on tomorrow. I think next I'm going to be upgrading fuel pump and lines. Also recently installed was a carbon fiber hood, fic 2150s, moshimoto aluminum radiator, fabed up an afpr bracket for the firewall, mid timing belt cover, flywheel cover and a clear cam gear cover. Oh and I still need to put my aerocatch latches on. I'm dreading putting holes in the new hood.

Almost got everything hooked up. Just waiting on a 2" 90° coupler. Was just curious if my oil feed line will be fine like this? I wasn't really sure where to hook it up on the ofh. I'm pretty sure I have to clock the turbo a bit too. Any advice or input?

I've been dreading doing this but I didn't want my hood to meet my windshield. Of course I didn't do it right but it still looks alright.

That doesn't look bad at all. Nice build!

Thanks bro. Finished the latches finally. Going to try to restore my headlights and chip and paint my drip molds tomorrow. Sucks they've been discontinued.

I used the 3m kit and they turned out really good. The passenger side headlight has a lot of dirt inside of it and the driver side has some in it. I'm going to do some research and try to disassemble them to clean out. Hopefully do the drip molds tonight as well.

Got one done and it looks good as new. Also got my built tb back. ;) A blt without a single leak. Finally. Ha ha

Washed the car for the first time in a long time. I definitely need a new paint job, the righ front bumper, rear bumper, fenders and some stock side skirts. I hate the damn lights on the fenders. Headlights look really good and taking them apart was a piece of cake with the heat gun.
Drip molds were easy to remove and I used a razor blade to remove the remaining rubber on them. I then repainted them with a black rubber spray. I'm happy with the results. I'll get a closer pic of them installed tomorrow. Now I just gotta finish getting this thing running right. Idk what is going on with it. I have a tuner (my1gdsm) helping me with that though. Next on the agenda is body parts and some shift cable bearings. Oh and probably another oil change.:hellyeah:

Nice build so far!!! I see that you have you BOV recirculated. Just curious as to why you don't run speed density an run it atmospheric? Again, nice build!!

I will eventually run gm or speed density. I pretty much built and put all this together this year so I'm trying to limit what I'm new with. When I get everything running good and some time with it under my belt I'll upgrade. Thanks man it's been a long process but it's getting there.
