Next big question, any ideas with rear caliper upgrade to fit inside 15" wheels. In Australia I run a GVR4 in Gravel rallies and am looking at using Saab front rotor or GVR4 front rotor. I have an inline bias adjuster. Cheers Ross
First event with a new co-driver. We had no trip computer for three stages, this one it worked. Had a third fastest time, a fifth fastest time and a seventh fastest time. Couple of over shoots, in other stages, meant we finished 9th. 33 entries. Very happy with new co-driver, she stepped into a...
G'day. You are very welcome. MCA runs a SR20DET engined Silvia with some outrageous ground effect in Time Attack in Sydney NSW, I think they have won the last two years. https://www.facebook.com/WorldTimeAttack/Cheers

G'day. If you have the money this business in Qld Australia
https://mcasuspension.com/
is one of the best. AU$400.00 to AU$650.00/corner. Tell them the corner weights of the car and your general driving requirements, you will be happy.

Wowan Rally 2017.
We caught a Datsun 1600 that had an alternator problem not too long after the start. Bent lower control arm meant a drive with more care than bravado.

G'day. Sorry if I missed something, but do you have a MAF sensor in your air intake? If so, IMHO, you should recirc your BOV. The MAF measures air into the system and if you dump it air to atmo the fuel ratios are all over the place. MAP is ok to dump to atmo. That could be some of the problem...
G'day. Big shout out for Turbo Lab of America on eBay. I bought an improved rebuild kit from this bloke for my big 16g in February. I have rallied the turbo four times since then and it is performing flawlessly. He also has a good video on rebuilding turbos on YouTube under turbolab.

G'day. Don't want to sound like a smartarse. Does your car have a 4wd drivetrain. There is a part in the FRONT AXLES that are called a CV joint, they 'pop' when turning if they are worn out...
G'day. Thankyou.
We get a start time at the beginning to be at the start line, I get a 54321 count down from a clock on a pole outside the car by the co-driver. Near the end we cross the 'Flying Finish', a red flag sign beside the road, then brake to the stop point who note our finish time on a...
First stage from Glen Innes in NSW Rally Championship. Fun event, fast as.
Bit of a moment not long after the start.
34 Finishers from 48 starters.Cheers

Engine degreaser, then hose it off, then brake cleaner for a good final cleaner. My 2 cents, yes it will be 1. the o ring at the cam belt end of the water pipe that crosses the front of the engine or 2. the water pump.

G'day.
Smoke like this??
The video works, press start.
I pulled my big 16 g down and discovered a slight oil leak from behind the heat shield on the exhaust side. Will be rebuilding when the kit arrives.
My compression 1-175; 2-185; 3-185;4-185.

You need a jack, and 2 jack stands. Jack the car up at the rear by lifting the diff. Put the jack stands under on the jack points under the car. Get a mate to turn one rear wheel, with the car out of gear, as you either turn the other wheel in the opposite direction. Watch to see if the...
I had a look at a picture of a Stage 2 competition clutch. Is it like this one?
http://www.built4g63.com/Competition-Clutch-Kit.htmlI have run a sprung centre 5 puck brass button clutch in a four cylinder n/a with 110 hp and a solid 5 brass button clutch in my VR4 Turbo Rally car that has 235...
Another vote for Gates belt. I change each new season for my rally car. Idler bearings replaced as well. Have not had any dramas, even with the tensioner. Balance shaft removed.

G'day. This measurement is critical. It has to be this length so when the pedal is up the cup sits just behind the hole from the reservoir allowing fluid to run into the master cylinder. If it is too long the fluid cannot get into the master cylinder. Too short and the clutch will not disengage...
G'day, I run anti-lag on my VR4 rally car. Yes the dump runs hotter and over a year of rallying I have welded cracks in the dump pipe three times. With an Autronic SMC computer it is set to activate at 5000rpms and stay on for 15 secs. It resets each time I reach 5000rpm. I set the amount of...
G'day. There is a difference, I believe, in the drive shafts between 3 and 4 bolt at the diff end. http://www.ilostmymind.com/manuals/DSM_manual/vfaq/mods/4bolt.html

G'day.
IMHO. 2 things:-
1. If the car is a Galant VR4 and there is no place to bolt the front engine mount, you have a 7 bolt 2G/EVO block.
2. The transmission from a VR4 will fit up to a 7 bolt, but you need to manufacture a front engine mount as the 2G/EVO front engine mount does not mount to...
Yes that off road into the paddock cost us 3.5 minutes and we went from 5/6th outright to 19 out of 20, so no points. The Nissan S15 had gone off earlier in the day. When the medics got the driver out they had cut the right side door off. We ran over it as I was I was looking for a gate. Some...
G'day.
I had a similar problem in a 4G63 Turbo rally engine for for about 4 years with number 2 cylinder always down on compression. After doing a rebuild, new pistons, rods, crank, lifters, it was still there. I had the head looked at and the engineer suggested the geometry of the...
Cool. Photos, labels, plastic bags labelled, oh and photos. Number and label everything sequentially. Maybe photos.
Go slow, and get some photos while you are at it.

G'day.
Try a heavy gauge earth wire from the alternator to the block and check your earth wire from the battery. You should have bare metal under the earth wire fitting, tighten up the nut and blot/screw then spray with a galvanising paint.

Sounded like two different noises. Two engines, black rocker cover and then red rocker cover? The louder one in the first vid...MMM. Big end.
Did it change when you took off the plug lead.Second vid. Lifters.
Did you remove 4 plug leads?
Cheers
Ross.
If you have an AFM you should recirc the BOV...
