What size are you going with the ones I posted were Mark Bullett's that I got from him with the car. But there only 52 mm and I believe there too small for a drag app compared to other platforms.
Yea it's on hold for the time being my brother got another 420a to daily. The block is currently together it just needs the head put on. I'm currently driving a neon. If you're on Instagram his is 8boltdsm and I'm 8boltracing.
We got the dashbar cut out. We also cut the core support off and have the tubeing for both of them. We also gutted the passenger door both door bars still need to be removed.
The progress on the dash bar.
What the stock dash bar looks like.
Cut lines on the door we used an air body...
Yea I know its not the lightest but we are working on it. Doing a tube front end and dash bar for this year hopefully we can get under 1999 without driver for this year.
We made around 170 based on weight and trap speed on my brothers car last year.
Stock short block
Non turbo
Meagsquirt.
I really think 250 is doable on the stock bottom end. With meagsquirt and good fuel as any knock will destroy the stock pm rods.
How light have you guys got your 2g track only cars? Ours was at 2095 last year with out driver. We are trying to find carbon or fiberglass hood doors and hatch for this year.
Yes I would recommend it. Facebook is getting to the point where you have to pay to get any likes or even post reach. Any chance of you developing a 4 or 8 channel wideband?
The hole stamp deal cracks me up. If you guys only knew the amount of restamping blocks that goes on with classic corvette's is ridiculous. But if it would help I can give you the first 2 of my galant vr4.
Does this "gunk" coat the entire drum? Be aware that most fuel drums have a coating on the inside to keep them from forming rust that would contaminate the fuel.
We picked up a new seat it will be a nice change from the yellow plastic summit seat. The kirkey I picked this from a junkyard for $60 with a cover that's almost worn out.We took the dash out we have plans to replace the stock dash bar with tube and also the steering column with 3/4...
This is a question best asked to the company that did the restall. I have had the same question but no auto car to test. However I have a few friends in the gm world that were talking about doing it with 4l60s.
The ideal collector size will vary depending on application. But for an all out drag car like your building 3 inch is what I came up with. This is using the formulas and charts in a book I have. The length of the primarys is dependent on the rpm you should make peak power.
I will build a...
No to the 3g hla's thay flow more so thr pressure might be slightly lower. But thay dump more oil in the head and then it has a hard time returning to the pan. That leads to more oil starvation problems.
Measure the length and id of the primary tubes and the collector size. If you don't mind me asking what do you give for this im thinking its going to cost about 350 just in materials to build the one im planing
We are changing to some real coolant hoses this year. Last year we had clear plastic hoses on to make it to the shootout. We had some of the hose and weld bungs the radiator still need the welding finished but that's a separate post as we took the plastic tanks of a stock civic core and built...
We are shooting for 500 if we spray it. I don't think we will be able to make more than that. Because once you fill the plenum there's physical no more room for nitrous. This is well documented in the v8 world especially in the small tire world.
The pistions we have now are only 10.5 I would like to get in the 12 to 13 range with it. We don't want to go too high as me might be putting the bottle to it sometime and not just a 75 shot. Detention shouldn't be an issue with the methanol.
So yea would have been around .053 then. I need to mock up this thing some time and check. Or take it into work and measure it with our deck hight gauge . I think its going to end up around 0 deck as I decked the block in school before i had the rods but thay are .010 shorter than stock length.
I posted this in my build thread but thought I would share it in the fab section as it is may useful to other 2g owners and most people wont look at a 420A build thread but if your interested this is the link...
The days of street driving this car are over for the most part 1 gallon fuel cell makes it hard to go any place. So there is no real need for the gauge cluster this is what I built to move the gauges off the A pillar and more into the line of sight.
I started with the stock bezel. Then cut...
I hope you can get this resolved with ebay. Also some shops bolt the head down to a plate and put them in an oven to fix warp. So there may be options yo get it fixed
Have it checked for warp. We have a fixture to apply pressure to a head to get the cams to turn then we surface it flat sometimes the head will be warped after. This is so when the engine is assembled the cams will turn in the head. That being said it might be best to swap everything to a...
The stock block build is over lol but it should be close to zero deck I don't want to go down to far the manufacturer of the rods says to keep .060 pistions to head Clarence with them.
Just thought I would shair the rods we had made about 2 years ago. Everything for the bottom end is at the shop I work for. But I just have to stay after work to get the bearings drilled for the rods.
We are changing widebands this year going from the autometer in the car to one from APSX WIDEBAND www.wide-band.com like there Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/apsxwideband We are going to be mounting it ware the gauge cluster was.
Just curious if you have ever removed a set of set screws from a crank. After its been ran say to freshen after a season? And what are your thoughts on grinding a 4g63 crank ?
Bottom end was from pick and pull all we did was pull it apart and look at the bearings and cleen carbon off pistions crank never came out. Head was ported by me had upgrade springs and retainers cams were delta other mods were obx intake and dc sports header. Tuneing was done with megasquirt...
I would just like to say Na power isn't impossible with a good topend and stock bottom end. We made around 170 wheel based on trap speed and weight on a stock shortblock this year.
