    Did you check for boost leaks? Usually when you take the ic piping apart it's always best to check for leaks.

    When I first bought my TSi I was getting horrible mpg. After doing a complete tune up, and changing the fuel filter mpg got way much better. There was so much gunk in the filter. The plastic bov was leaking too.But yeah expect loss in mpg if your throwing any CEL and especially for an o2 sensor.

    Well the 420a headgaskets are a weak point and especially around 170k they start to leak.

    1g motors have low compression from the get go. So from what I've seen on a 1g motor, 150 in each cylinder is a pretty healthy.

    Once you delete the stock airbox, the exhaust will get louder. Especially if you take out that box between the the ic and lower ic piping on a STOCK 2g, even louder.

    You don't really have to start it.Depending on how long it will sit, id just change the oil and maybe the coolant.Disconnect the battery and trickle charge if you choose to.

    Those ebay valve cover gaskets are trash. Better off spending the $50 for a full durable oem set.Its just lifter tick, worst is their annoying unless they collapse. Ive seen revised lifter swapping do nothing at times, you still get the lifter tick in the cold.

    Those jdm motors are not that good. They say they have 50k on them when they really have 100k on them.I agree, your better off buying a bare rebuildable block and going that route.

    5-10 minutes just for the sake of the turbo.I use 10w-30 all year round, id rather have thick oil in the motor. That's what the manual calls for.My car hates cold weather.

    Don't ever buy hubs off ebay. Sure their cheap, if you plan to keep your car you will run into problems down the road.

    Cool that's what i needed to know, i was told before not all 2ga heads have a slotted cam.Yeah i seen that round rubber gasket on the pas side of where the intake cam sits, thats when i figured there might be a slot.Alright thanks!!

    Yeah, with crankwalk you can have misfires. Because the crank would be hitting the crank sensor.Its just im familar with the misfires, my last 2g would misfire and run like crap, turned out to be a walker. Just the whole tach going crazy is new.
