i doubt it but there could be a possibility. the motor needs 3 major things to run.
1. spark
2. fuel
3. compression.
check to see if your getting spark, have someone crank the engine and take one spark plug wire and hold it by the valve cover while the engine is cranking. repeat that on all 4...
rebuilding is your best option,:thumb: no way i'll pay $5000 for new motor. a stock rebuilt is alot cheaper than buy new. ask your mechanic if he can rebuild it. anyone else agree on this? :D
evo 8 ecu will not work for you car, 420A have different wiring harness than the 4g63. your better off trading the car for a 4g63, if your planning on going that route.
2-step is when staging you want a little power to get you off the line for a better 1/4 mile time, and like LiQUiDx said setting a second rev limiter.:thumb:it won't make any difference, adjustable cam gears works best with aftermarket CAMS.

yea your tranny should be able to handle 350ph or more. get some good tranny fluid in there, and also power shifting is the easiest way to end sychros life so try avoiding that.
yes, its really not that bad once its fully broken in, i had it in the 90 tsi fwd DD and i abuse the hell out of it and still no slippage at all 23psi dd on 20g turbo.
welcome and like everyone said get rid of that BOV and get a stock 1g BOV and recirc it. plus the flickering ## having could be the alternator on its way out, i've been there before. get it checked out to see if its working properly.
NGR type-s is even better than the original type s. they redesign the diaphragm and can hold more boost without leaking. don't waste your time looking for greddy type-s people want too much money for them.
im in denver, there's alot of DSM around here. my buddy and i are currently building ours they should be up running within the next month, plus there is a local imports car meet every sunday here and there's always at least 8-10 dsm's around
i had the same problem too, turns out to be that my pressure plate was to soft, i had a 2300 pressure plate with 6 puck unsprung disk, so i switched to a 2600pp and it fixed it.
get a AFPR and you can adjust the base fuel, as for the jetta, its a 1.8T they have small turbo and since the engine displacement is a 1.8 litre the turbo spools way faster and you can hear the BOV even if the car is going slow
its rated from 506 to 549, i just got mine and my friend also has one and he dd his gs-t making close to 500hp, he abuse that clutch like no other and still hasn't slipped once. he has 5k on it so far
VRSF fmic took me about 4 hours on my 1g, i had to modify the crash beam, and ghetto fab a bracket for the coolant reservoir tank.:D over all it was worth the time because the FMIC looks soo sick all tucked in the bumper.:hellyeah:
