Chained it to a tree & "realigned" the Rad Wall with a few Reverse slams - Found a good Silver 91 AWD TSI Parts Car - Gonna start salvaging what I need to get ole Red back on the road...
Well actually it's BUCK that's back - Somehow I eneded up w/2 user names & logged in with uncle buck before I realized I was BUCK - All is cool now & self reporting that uncle buck needs to go...- I got a Silver 91 TSI AWD Parts car that will have some good stuff left on it once I take what...
Well actually it's BUCK that's back - Somehow I eneded up w/2 user names & logged in with uncle buck before I realized I was BUCK - All is cool nw & self reporting that uncle buck needs to go... THANX
& Just for clarification you are talking INNER Bearing on the Front Balance Shaft as we all know there is no need to remove the REAR Balance Shaft Bearing.
You need to replace EVERY old original Coolant Hose on your car - 1 Gallon of Antifreeze will service the entire System - Why not replace Thermostat & Flush your Radiator, Motor & Heater Core while you are at it?
Well that would be because neither of you know what the HELL you were looking at - The STOCK fasteners on BOTH your cars have a crush washer on them - Exactly what part about THRU HOLE do you not comprehend?? - If you ever hope to have any Rep anywhere in your future you may want to take the...
3:Put new gasket on turbo drain line where it meets the pan, its leaking.Don't forget it could be the Copper Crush Washers on those teeny ass fasteners, they leak more often than the gasket does - Those are THRU HOLES into the Pan - I had to tap mine to American 1/4-20 & used the round part...
& EVERY HOSE~! - Might as well change Thermostat while you are in there - From what you are saying you need to try & determine age of Timing Belt also - & ALL the above are a MUCH higher Priority than Plugs & Wires IMO - NICE FIND~! - Don't screw it up.
Fans are powered from the Fan Relays on Passenger side Fender well - Relays are powered by AC Switch in Dash & Temp Switch at lower Passenger side of Radiator.
Center Bearing Had A Bolt Wrung Off--------------------------------------------------------------------------------I had this single "click" when changing from Forward to Reverse - Not a buncha clicks like a CV Joint... & not the low "clunk" you get on an AWD when you load the rear end...
I'm just wondering if your Balance Shaft Bearings were dying the first time, & it took out your Timing Belt THIS time when you reinstalled Balance Shaft Belt on a dying BS - You are correct in that you DO need an answer as to WHY this happened.
No, for instance the best I can tell the "forward facing" OFH is just an NT OFH & it has fewer Ports as you Posted in your Pic in Post #1 - SO... with a Forward Facing the Sandwhich Adapter may well be the way to go - ANYTHING except the POS Water to Oil Cooler~!The Titles don't say it but...
91 OFH with Water Cooler removed & Oil Filter Bolt shortened. Some more pix at http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/122003-what-part-do-i-need.htmlI am in SC & run Full Synthetic so I use no Oil Cooler Temperature Control Valve as the 91 OFH has none - In colder climates you may...
Just delete your Water to Oil Cooler, cut the Oil Filter Bolt off to a shorter Length & Loctite it back into your existing OFH, your Oil Filter will then seat directly on the OFH, that will give you Downpipe clearance - Then plumb up an Air to Oil Cooler off the unused ports at the front of your...
When the Fluid is level with the Fill hole & therefore runs back out of the Fill hole... it's full - Fm the VFAQ:After about 2.3 qrts, remove the hose and see if any oil leaks out of the filler plug hole. If none does add more oil, if some does wait till it doesn't leak anymore then replace...
I take it we are talking the Tranny Fluid level Plug on FRONT of Tranny? - The car should be LEVEL when you are checking the Fluid level at the Tranny Fluid level Plug on FRONT of Tranny - I can only surmise that you had it on Ramps or something NOT LEVEL - OR you filled it thru the Reverse...
Maybe they took some Aluminum 'with them" as they passed thru ? -WTF& looking thru your past Posts we all know Daveed LOVES to grind on things.... ROFL
Just to clarify & I realize that it's like 80 in Florida but as the D-Man's Post immediately above yours says... There AINT NO HEATER COOLANT CONTROL VALVE~!
From what I recall the Heater Core Flows ALL the time & Heat is controlled by Flappers & Cold outsude air - But the Cores can still clog & not flow - I usually just reverse one Hose connection & leave the other Hose off - Crank it over & backflush it to check it as clear - Get your head up under...
YUP that's it - the other more forward ACORN NUT looking one is the Oil Temperature Valve for you Oil Cooler.& I'm actually kinda liking the setups where guys are putting a Mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge in the Engine Bay off the Head or whatever...
I'm sure a Search OR another Tuner will turn up an exception but over quite a few years & 2000+ posts I don't recall a Cog "shattering" - Are those HUNKS of Cog in those pix??? - I'm still wondering if that is what you'd expect to see of a Cog that was not properly Loctited & Torqued ? - Your...
The OPRV is on the rear of the OFH - The big Brass ACORN NUT looking thing is the Oil Temp Valve - I personally purely HATE Mechanical Oil Pressure Gauges so for purely personal reasons I hope your "gauge" is crap & your indications are bogus - That said the OPRV is where I'd start - Below is my...
Well I was assuming you MEANT the Gears - & not the Oil Pump Timing Belt COG exploded or something - I would think that he Loctited & Torqued the COG properly - Right?
My GUESS is someone screwed up reassembling your Front Case / Oil Pump assembly - I am sure all that is TOAST too if indeed your Oil Pump Gears shattered - Needless to say they need to Flush the OFH & hope like hell the Oil Filter caught the debris or the whole Motor could be seriously...
uHHH - weren't you "selling" a car with bad motor last week? - I guess that's where you got familiar with lemon laws...http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/277535-oil-filter-gasket-just-blew-help.html
to DREAM... the IMPOSSIBLE dream :tease:- to fight... the UNBEATABLE foe - - to RUN where the brave never goeth OMG - this is my QUEST... WTF- to follow that STAR - no matter HOW foolish... :beatentodeath:- no matter how FAR :rocks:............- yadda yadda...
That Head is DEAD - throw your old MLS gasket in the shitcan - Swap Cams & put on the new Head - Your Balance Shafts may have seized to pop that T/Belt so have you done a BSE?????
Yeah - it's NOT a 90 OFH as it has no Oil Temp Valve or side Ports - Aside from my RANTS this is a darn good Thread with GREAT pix about OFH's - etc...http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/108575-mechanical-oil-pressure-gauge-installation-merged-1-8-a.html
With an Aftermarket Oil Temperature Valve to go along with your Atermarket Air to Oil Cooler that's a perfectly good OFH for your Turbo - You do NOT want the Water to Oill Cooler Setup although all it would take is the longer Oil Filter Bolt & the Cooler to go that route with THAT OFH.
