When I first started, it would just crank and crank and fart. If it started it would immediately die. You could keep it running by throttling it, but it just ran like crap.
I've searched high and low and can't seem to find exactly what I was looking for. My question itself is simple and I can expand on it, for my previous situation. What checklist do you go by when starting a tune from scratch?Obviously, one would go through the typical getting idle set, loading...
Maybe? I can't find the thread now but it said they required you to send the complete shifter assembly in. They would shorten the throw and add shift stops to prevent broken or bent shift forks.
Can anyone point me in the right direction here?I've been searching off and on for a few months. I've read a bunch of old posts that there were a couple people that modified and sold 2g shifter assemblies that had shorter throws with built in shift stops. I've sent a few PMs to people that...
How much is that master cylinder and what are you going to use to mount it? You'd need something for the 2 bolt master cylinder to adapt to the 4 bolt firewall port.
When I wanted to find the company that made the 2g quarter glass seal, I called the corporate mitsubishi phone number. I gave them the mitsu part number and explained what I was looking for. They told me what company was contracted to supply the parts and gave me all their info. Unfortunately...
There are only 2 A/C brackets for 2Gs:1/1994 - 5/1996 is MB946073
5-1996 - 4-1999 is MR250543The intermediate shaft by itself (read: by itself) is the same 95-99:5-speed is MB620806
Auto is MB837934There are 4 different intermediate shaft brackets that bolt to the A/C bracket...
It would be the sensor bolted to the head right between your thermostat housing and intake manifold, if you are using a 1g sensor. Although I've never personally seen a 1g CAS go bad. It would more likely be a wiring issue.
Is your battery light on? Try turning the alternator pulley without the belt on. If you can turn it, how much resistance is there? My guess would be the alternator shaft bearing is on it's way out or has already exited the building. There is rubber dust all over the side of the alternator...
Then it was on to the brakes. Got a set of front Evo Brembos on trade and bought a set of rears from Kris down in South Florida. Had the calipers Ceramic coated chrome and rebuilt them. Stock rotors wouldn't do so bought new ones and all new pads. Then fitted them to the car. Old rims fit the...
On to the AWD conversion, I stripped the underbody and hatch area of the car. Cut and welded everything necessary until the task was complete. Stripped and resurfaced the wheel wells, installed poly bushings everywhere, added coilovers and camber kits, and went over the driveshaft. BoostX and I...
It was finally time to install the motor and transmission, so I polished it up for fresh fingerprints and took the car off jackstands. I gave her false hope, haha.Motor was in, so I started placing a few more things in the engine bay, finished the brake master cylinder upgrade...
Finally decided on a turbo, ordered it, and got it in, pretty small.Got the whole turbo setup ceramic coated chrome and black.Did a little refurb to the engine. Replaced pretty much every bolt with new ones, powdercoated or ceramic coated everything, built a new head, new oil...
I didn't like how it wasn't consistent so I proceeded to wirewheel the engine bay to remove the years of built up DSM fluids and old paint. I considered just clearing over the bare metal but figured that was a bit much, even for me :pAfter stripping the engine bay, I decided...
Let me start by saying that with the many DSMs I've parted out, this is the only one I've held on to. This is also not completely in chronological order. It all started with the first 2G turbo DSM I bought back in 2005 or 2006, a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST. It only had like 85k on it. I had...
I emailed there rep and should be closing on this deal within the next month. Everything will be packed professionally and drop shipped directly from them. I know about the whole group buy problems on forums, so I'll probably just list them exclusively on eBay or 1 at a time on a few forums...
I haven't given them money. They said they could only give me a tentative quote until they had received 2 of each windows (rear side quarters and hatch glass). I'll give them a deposit after they receive all 6 pieces of glass.
What part of "How much is my turbo worth?" is scamming people?Just throw the turbo in the Classifieds section for $700 obo. You got it for free, so you are way ahead of the game already.
I was referring to the Evo hood. The stock aluminum Evo 8/9 hood weighs less than a carbon fiber Evo 8/9 replacement hood. I wasn't trying to be "dickish." I was merely trying to understand why you would add weight to your car.
