A few locals have been trying something different lately. One car is just over 500 awhp, one is 450awhp. both on mustang dynoBoth of these guys are running an ACT 2100 with a 6 puck. The one has put some significant milieage on it, and the other just swapped out his act 2600 for this setup...
I run the Fidanza 4.3 and a fidanza flywheel in my laser. Excellent setup. I like it much better than the ACT 2600 with street disk. My car is setup similar to yours.
Get a whole clutch kit while you are in there. If I was you, since you want turbo, the best and cheapest way would be to get a stock clutch replacement kit and then sell your car. Then get a GSX or GST, You will save money in the long run, and have a better platform to work with.
When I had this problem I added more fuel and it solved it, I was running lean. Lean causes higher exhaust temps. The only way I can see running rich cause this is if unburnt fuel is igniting in the manifold it self.Try over boosting your fuel setup on a nice little rip. It WILL Glow.
If your going to change your balance shaft at the same time you have to crack the crank nut. you have to take it off in order to get the balance shaft belt out. To crack it all I did was put a breaker bar to the ground and turn the car over with the starter for a split second. my impact...
Well, my project 2g has been down for around 8 months, and my daily driver is off the road every other day. I have never owned a DSM that has been on the road longer that it has been off, and I am onto my 9th DSM. When I purchased My Laser(current DD) it was majorly lacking in maintenance...
A local DSMer used a Topline HG and it lasted less than a year. It was running a 14b at 14psi, not abused.I will try and find some pics of it to post up.Personally I would reuse a Cometic before touching a topline gasket.
watch that the exhaust mani doesn't get to covered, it could catch fire, I had this happen when my oil filter housing nipple backed out.Crimp the top of the dipstick tube and it should hold the dipstick in. The seal on the dipstick is probably just worn out.
I have had my Fidanza 4.3 and Fidanza flywheel on for around 2000 miles now. So far so good, Nice peddle feel, easy to use in stop and go traffic, I have done a few launches on it and I am impressed. Overall I like it better than my ACT2600 with a street disk.My car isn't very heavily...
Fidanza Recommends for an awd car to go with the 4.3, I have been happy with mine in my laser so far, way better feel than my act2600 with a street disk, even has better drive ability in traffic.
If you think everyone likes act you havn't looked very far. Yes it is a popular clutch but there are many threads stating the problems ppl have had. And as I said before, the Fidanza 6 puck 4.3 is nicer on the street in traffic than my ACT 2600 with a street disk was.
You DO NOT need an extended slave rod, just adjust the master Cyl rod under the dash properly. I had your same problem until I adjusted it according to the Jacks transmission adjustment video.
I wouldn't run more than 12lbs , At the moment I am running 11 on my s16g and I am not going to push it any further until I get my injectors and 255 into the car.If you are going to start upping the boost make sure you have a wideband and a datalogger.
Change your plugs, ngk bpr6es, gap them to .028 .On my last dsm It would do the same thing, the gap on the plugs constantly changed causeing the issue you are describing. So everytime my car was acting up I would pull to the side of the road, re gapp the plugs, and off I go good as new.
Purchased a car with the top timing cover on, i took the cover off to check the belt to find that the belt had a groove wearing in it. I pulled everything off to replace it to find the previous owner had dropped a small bolt in there and it was stuck behind the oil pump sprocket, atleast it...
Would be unique that's foresure, but a 4g63 can handle any power you want to throw its way with the propper build, and it will cost much less than an RB swap.
I have been happy with my Fidanza 4.3 with fid flywheel, have around 2000 miles on it so far. I don't currently have a very aggressive setup tho, just a small 16g. Fidanza recommends any AWD car go with their 4.3 and not the 3.2 .
My Laser is a 6/4 , early build date, I beleive Oct 91. All 1gb's are 4 bolt rears, just look where the axle bolts upto the hub. Check the build date, I beleive March 92 was the last of the 6/4 combo, after that was 7/4/
I don't know why ppl keep responding, this is one fo the single most retarded questions I have read on tuners. he doesn't want to hear shit about suporting mods or what he should do to his car, all he wants to know is the single mod in all the "stages" that will make the most power.
Ok, I understand what your saying and I guess I worded it wrong, I wouldn't run SD on a stock car or nearly stock car either.(until fuel is upgraded). If you want check out the post I made here...
depends what way u go at it, if u have all the suporting mods for a bigass turbo then obviously it will be the turbo. but without the suporting mods and adding that turbo it will be the least hp gain.
Well, I have been posting lately in the newbie section trying to help out and thought I would share a bit about my DSM Experiance. At the moment I am onto my 8th dsm. Every one I have owned has been a 1g AWD except for my project 2gb GSX.Ok, so the main 2 cars I am working on at the...
Everyone locally who runs sd says it is way better in every way than a maf. Alot of People are running ds-map and I have not heard of one complaint.I am waiting on my fuel setup to get here and then I will be swapping my Laser over using Jackal. What issues do you have with speed density?
