I currently have the Radium FPR+Damper on my car and it defiantly helps keep the fuel pressure more stable it seems like just by looking at my logs before and after. The fuel rail is definantly one of my next upgrades on my GVR4. How was the install?
I picked up the resurrection project today from a buddy's house who was holding it for me until I had space. I'm excited to get this going! I have a lot of parts to start with!
I ran the stock system on E85 and in 2 years my injectors were covered in junk and barely flowed. Since then everything is PTFE line and Stainless mesh reusable fuel filter.I ran the evo prosport electric gauges for about 2 years never had any issues.
I was actually just looking at @RockAuto and they do have .03 and .04 on the site for the non-turbo from ITM Engine Components. Looking at the picture it does say 63D which indicates non turbo. I think im going to go that route. Thank you for your help! I always forget about rockauto.LOL
I am looking for OEM Replacements for stock 6 bolt rods. the car is 100% stock and I want to keep it that way. Ive looked down the path of going with a evo 8 piston since its the same compression but a good aftermarket oem replacement will be fine. I went with NPR for my VR4 but having a hard...
Hello Everyone!
I'm rebuilding the engine on my 90 Galant GSX and need to find .03 over pistons and having a hard time finding them. Anyone have any leads on N/A Oversized Pistons. Thank you!
Just got everything to measure the bores on my Galant GSX block. Going to measure this week and hope I stay with stock pistons. Want to bring that thing back to life so I drive something with better MPG.lol Plus then I can start on the Ludachris 1g rebuild.
I have a set of 441+ on my GVR4 and I love them. Ride very comfortably and make the car handle very well. My buddy has them on his 1g and same thing. Very happy with there product. I do recommend getting there covers also. Keeps them all nice and clean.
The only thing I recommend is to find a factory sevice manual to look at the electrical diagram manual. There are a few websites online you can download them. Ill look in my 90-91 Galant manual to see if I can find anything.
Hey everyone!
I was watching Hoonigans car reviews and saw the an electric S2000 that had an electronic brake booster. Anyone look into this? It seems straight forward. Just need to power the IBooster unit and your good. This might help the cars that have really low vacuum at idle.Link...
If you could its been a while since I've worked with ECLlink but if you could hook up the dimmer switch to an input on the ecu and tell it boost control v voltage then the ECU would output the correct PWM signal.
The spark issue could be a number of things. It being a 90 I would make sure all the wiring is ok on the cam angle sensor. Ive had a wire break in the past causing this issue on my 90 Galant GSX. The only other things that would prevent it from spark would be both coils bad(unlikely) or the Igniter.
Ya it's been gutted to basically nothing. I grew up seeing the car in the upper left hand corner of the page. Followed the road race forums and then when I had the opportunity to get it even in this shape I couldn't say no.
Rebuilding Ludachris's 1g from nothing because growing up around 1gs its the car Ive always wanted. :D Plus the entire shed of parts I have with a Galant VR4 plus a Galant GSX.
Well today after sitting for 2 years car finally got cleaned out and all the parts going on the car put inside. BTW you can fit a lot of things in a 1g LOL. Still have more parts to put in but it's off to storage for a couple months then hopefully it will start to rebuild process. I'm going to...
Idle TuningIdle tuning can be a bit tricky on the G4+. The best way it to go into open loop mode and tune the idle then put it back into closed loop.Go to ECU Settings > Idle Speed Control > Idle Speed ControlISC Mode
First Start upThis will be a little trick since you will be jumping between a few things possibly to help keep the car going. Here is a list of the things you will be jumping in betweenISC Setup:Idle Target needs to be setup if you have camsECU Settings > Idle Speed Control >...
Limits Setup
There are a few limits you should check to verify they are correct for you.
RPM LimitGo to ECU Settings > Engine Protection > RPM LimitRPM Limit Mode = You can select between ignition or fuel cut. Either one will work. The preferred one is fuel.
Time allocation = this is where...

Receiving ECU:These ECU’s are locked from the factory to prevent some to use it if it is stolen while being sent out. Email the buyer when you get the ECU and they will give you the Unlock Code.
These ECU do not have the Knock sensor hooked up due to in Motorsports they have vibrations all...
G4 Plus / VR4LinkSetup GuideWith this ecu being out for a while there is not much info on how to setup the ECU or what functions you have with it. This is can be difficult to setup if you have never owned a full standalone before. I hope this will help people get a quick understanding and a...
My Galant has a lot taken off of it so its lost a lot of weight. Im hoping my Galant Evo trans has a shorter first gear with the 3.909 gear to compensate for the weight. Thanks for the info! I just need to find a 3.909 pinion and gear to install now.
Hello Everyone,
Ive been trying to do some digging on my Galant VR4 Evo trans. It has 3.909 Final drive gears in it. How well do these work for daily/weekend driving? I know the Evo 1-3 guys go from a 3.909 to a 3.545 to get more top speed from what Ive read. I currently have a TRE stage 3 w/...
What ecu is it using? It might have a ECMLink Ecu in it. If that's the case then it is fully tune able. Try opening up the ECU and see whats inside. If not post pictures of it and that will help us.
How much pressure are you using for your boost leak test? Stock piping on the Car? I would run a stock BOV for now to make sure you have a good starting point then modify from there.
I would just buy rotors for the car and be done if the pads are not bad. That will be the easier option. I may have a set of rotors sitting around. Ill look around in my stash.
IIRC yes the OBD2 port and flash connector are part of the body harness. Im not much of a 2g guy but just did a evo 8 ecu swap in a friends 97 GSX. We had to add in the Flash port to the ECU.
There should be a relay under the dash IIRC that is for the starter. I would get a volt meter and see if you have voltage going to the solenoid wire at the starter (might need 2 people). You could try to tap on the starter also to see if that helps.
Which part of the harness is a 99? You could have a 99 engine harness and a 95 body harness. If you go to the junk yard you can normally find an 3g Eclipse or a 9th Galant with a flash port if you need one.
HAHAHA I laughed too hard at this. Ive done this so many times.I have pictures for both my Galants.lol I think they have about 5 each.lolYou're not a true DSMer if you always forget the small transmission bolt in the back of the engine above the t-case.
Hi Everyone!
I just finished checking the bore size, roundness, and taper on my 4G63 N/A block. I know machining a 4G63 you need a torque plate. Do you need to use a toque plate while checking the bore size and taper? Just though about it when I finally sat down to look at the numbers. Any...
Update:
A few months ago I broke a timing belt and bent all the valves. Since this engine has 200k on it I'm going to redo the short block. Every took about a day to get to get the short block out. I don't have an engine hoist so it took a bit longer.
Once I put the engine on the engine...
