Just curious how far (power and 1/4 mile times) stock cams will take me? I recently did an engine rebuild and had the head all reconditioned but it stock. How far will the cams, or anything stock in the head, take me?

    Rear main to block gasket

Will blue rtv gasket maker work as a gasket for my rear main seal housing to block gasket? I already have it assembled and the clutch back on and it just dawned on me they have different rtv's. Will the blue rtv gasket maker I used work alright?

    Connector broke off harness

When I was pulling my engine out earlier this year, a connector at the coolant elbow fell off the wiring harness and I'm just getting around to fixing it. What are your suggestions for fixing this? I tried sodering, but the wires broke off just too close to the base of the connector. Any special...

    Anyone taking online classes?

I have an online class right now for physics. Was great to begin with, I could get on when I wanted and the assignments were easily accessible etc. But a few weeks down the road, you decide to skip an online lecture, then two, then three. And before you know if your missing out on like 24 hours...

    Headgasket differences?

I recently ordered a cometic mls headgasket from a vendor and it doesn't fit. It does not match my previous cometic mls headgasket and some of the coolant/oil passages don't match up. Is there a difference between the 6 and 7 bolt headgaskets?

    Don't rush things!!!!

Because I am more than less just ranting about some struggles rather than asking how to fix it. I don't have much of a choice other than to run it.

    Don't rush things!!!!

I've been pretty frustrated over my car lately... See, it spun a rod bearing after a fresh rebuilt last year. I put soo much time, money, and hard work into this rebuild. Then it spun 800 miles later, so most of that went out the door. It's taken me up to this point in time to just start putting...

I'd like to go ahead and do so, but your going against the grain here dude. Everyone else is questioning it. What you said makes sense, but can anyone else chime in?

    Rod bearing alignment issue

I understand what your saying and agree that I might have the wrong bearings, but they started life as a 6 bolt rod and are being put in a 7 bolt block.

    Rod bearing alignment issue

I don't understand how that would affect the inner part of the rod where the bearing sits, even if that was the case?My rods were bought for $200 total. The 6 bolt rods with arp's have been proven to hold 500hp when properly set up. That's plenty for my goals and budget. My pistons where...

    Rod bearing alignment issue

The part number for the bearing is what it is supposed to be. I even matched it up with my old 7 bolt bearings and they are identical (but my kings are thicker because they are undersize)The rods were not resized, but honed. They should be the proper width for the crank as they are sold as...

    Rod bearing alignment issue

I have a set of 6 bolt rods with arps that have been machined to fit my seven bolt crank. Fuel system/tuning questions

I'm thinking just to get my car running and driving as soon as possible I'm going to keep it at stock boost levels, if not lower. That way I will not have to mess with any of the fuel system, or tuning software.... yet. But This is helping me decide what I will want to eventually do.

    Crankshaft Thrust Surface Condition

Yes I'll definately be taking it back to have that bearing material removed from the rod journal. But what really concerns me is that step on the thrust surface. If I have that removed I am afraid my crank endplay will be out of spec. Does anyone know how far the crank endplay can go before...

I had the rod journals on my crank cut .020. I noticed the other day while inspecting the crank that the rod journals fillets are not even all the way around. Is removing the ball plugs on a cut crank necessary?

I just had my crankshaft cut .020 on the rod journals and my mains polished. I have heard that any time the crank is cut, it's good practice to have the soft ball plugs on the crank drilled out and replaced with set screws. This is supposedly so the crank can be better cleaned. I had things...
