Pending Price: $2250Selling my 98 Talon Tsi for a very low price :( , had bought the shell from one of our members for $1k and have been working on it for the past year almost little by little, but unfortunately due to separation(divorce), I will have to sell the car cheap as I need it out of...
The project has come to an end and need to sell the car. Will be posting it in the classified in next couple days. If I get $2250 for everything is yours. Currently going through divorce and need the car out of the garage soon.
Yeah am the one Fabricating all the exhaust and IC piping as well, we have mandrel tube benders here and I was tig welder where I work at before moving to quality but am still able to use the equipment.
Hey any input is highly appreciated! I see what you mean, just thought I wouldn't have an issue as I already have the pieces cut-off for the o2 housing, will see what happens when I try fit it, I still haven't made the IC piping so the orientation can be changed if anything. Thanks for pointing...
Actually looks very similar and really good.Just missing the hood pins, find the exact wheels and the (Dummy)Fake rear rotors. Did a great job on it, one of the best reps I've seen made!!
Thanks and yeah that's what I thought. I've only had this one for almost a year and haven't really put much time on it, but yes will definitely be worth it.
Thank you! Still have long way to go, but coming along good!!Good question, but not really, since I was going to have the space in that area as the P/S was gone and Alternator was going to be relocated, I figured it would be a shorter route for the IC piping and have plenty of space for the...
Mounted the manifold today and test fitted the turbo. Yeah the cold side is on the driver side, am relocating the alternator and am not running P/S or Ac. Downpipe I will do a custom one already have the pieces for it. Also will be getting a Scirocco radiator as I had to order one anyways...
WD-40 as mention or smear some oil in each cylinder, I had my cooper block without the head for a month with just some oil smeared kn and had no issues.
There has been no update on the build as I have not been able to do anything else yet. I had broke my hand and now have a different position at work and have been real busy. Project will either be on pause for a long time or may consider selling it if I think will take too long to finish.Edit...
Well I have a VRSF Intercooler which am going to use on my little project and have a question.I am going to be running 3" stainless steel pipes which I will fab and weld at work.I would like to know if there would be any significant loss/gain in performance if I cut off the inlet and...
So I bought this transmission for my 98 talon tsi, but the guy told me I will need the part that goes here because the thread was stripped. Now I need help with the name and or part number if possible, Thanks in advance. Is the bracket that hold 1 of the shift cables and has the little...
This is the actual valve cover that is going to be used, it does touches the hood ahh, is not a lot though as I can completely close it but small dent is barely noticeable but is there from the boss touching hood. Am now am either going to have cut them and make them shorter or put a small...
Engine/Transmission drop in:
Still a long way to go but happy to see some progress!!Well haven't updated in a while as I haven't had much time to work in the car, yesterday drop the motor in although I couldn't put the transmission mount yet as I haven't received it from Maperformance.I...
For $150 if is not rusted, is worth a build. Sure it needs work but if you plan to take the motor out to build it, you'll have plenty of time and space to clean that bay up and get everything back in shape.
I had same issue you do, had all parts ready then found out my car had really bad rust/rot, but had to make a choice and scrap it. Ended up buying a near rust free shell. If you have a gst best bet is to do as advised in comment above and convert it to gsx.
Yeah I've used it several times, even on that valve cover few comments above. While it is messy it works good though. It just wipes right off after 10-15 minutes, whatever is left I respray and use a standard blade to take off the leftovers.
Thanks @chrysler kid, yes am planning to keep them on the car, but want to get the white paint off. I may have to send them to get powder coated. Am trying to get the car back to the way it used to look, so far need the twisties from a 95-96 talon. This was the car back long time ago from one...
Thanks!
As for professional paint job? Not quite, I ordered the primer and paint by the car code from Automotivetouchups, their paint have been great so far.
Back to talon!! Plus valve cover picsWell today got the car back to it's original shape and installed the talon rear which was removed by previous owners, but thankfully kept the original bumper with the car.Glad to see no rust hiding here!Talon rear back on!!Valve cover with some...
Yes it is, if you have never worked on a transmission is not something you want to dive into without much understanding knowledge. What you stated is correct, it is not an easy task and not something to venture without experience.
Here's a link, just know those Transmissions have to be properly shimmed after rebuild, if you are going to have someone do it is wise to open it up first and do a full inspection. When I did mine the only problem I was experiencing was no 1st gear engagement, but when I opened it, ended up...
Nice to hear from more people on CT on here and yes roads here are awful lol, I'll be in same boat as you with vibrations as thats the route am taking with my suspension, plus have bought a set of Torque Solutions motor mounts for it.
Thanks for the suggestion @1990TSIAWDTALON, I will take that into consideration and just run a feed before the filter as the turbo will be top mount and wont be able to run the filter on top of turbo.
True, I've never been a fan of using rtv in anything in my motor, but ordered yesterday the yamabond 4, as mentioned with the cork gasket and the stainless steel bolts I order from MAP don't seem to be working well with each other, as I went to open the pan and all were lose from just sitting on...
Never had a issue with them, but I never used the hex stainless steel bolts from Maperformance with them before and noticed since they are already short they get lose, thank I will remove and get some hondabond or similar.
I have been searching for a answer since yesterday but end up in the same posts without a specific answer, possibly am missing a term in the search query but please point me in the right direction on this one.I have a 7-Bolt Block out of a 93 gsx that I built for my project. Now that block...
Hello, So the other days I ordered a new set of OEM 7-Bolt Oil Filter Housing Bolts for my build from EXTREMPSI. Well today I went to install my oil filter housing and am having an issue, the bolts seem to be too short only 2 of them actually fit.The bolts I received are as followed:
2x...
TransmissionWell picked up a used transmission which according to seller was rebuilt by "Mitsu" by it's previous owner, which he is not sure if it was as he didn't had paperwork as proof.Did a small inspection and at least it goes into gears fine, also checked the shift lever shoe and is...
Thanks! @eclipse gsx.Motor:
The motor is for the most part done, just not mated to the head yet as I have it inside the house due to not wanting to leave it exposed to humidity. It is going to be a 2.3 Stroker and parts are as follow:
Block:
-93 Eclipse 7-bolt block
-4G64 crank
-Ross Stroker...
Engine bay close to finish!! Had some good weather today and gave me enough time to clean, sand and paint the bay.*The paint in the pictures look look brighter then in person for some reason, but I like the close to finish product. Need to do my radiator suport which I will be doing in the...
