Just a note on Kurt's way of bolting it to the fuse panel, this will only work easily with abs cars, as the abs fuse box has two threaded holes as seen in the pics above, the non abs box has a solid metal piece with no holes for mounting your battery or starter wire.
Ok cool. I have a PDF version of the 91 service manual for talon and just bought a paper copy of the two book set for 92 talon/laser off eBay, so ill refer to that or here for torque specs instead of the Haynes manual. So when it gives a range just go in the middle is good rule of thumb?
I am going to dig this up from the grave because I feel it is better to post in an existing thread then start a new one so,I just got done porting my relief hole and want to tighten that plug to spec and here is my problem, haynes manual says oil pump relief valve plug 11-13 ft lbs and the fsm...
I know some of the dorman listed parts are, like the upper timing cover. Thread seen here:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt-tech/429862-all-you-guys-missing-your-upper-timing-cover.htmlI ordered one, should be here tomorrow. Now only if I could find Hyundai listings for all the engine...
thanks for the replies!thanks, I don't know much about 2g specifics.I looked at alot of posts on ebay, that one in specific that I linked too seemed to have item specific pictures. That someone actually took it out of the box and took pictures of it, not just a stock photo.I was...
So long story short, when I replaced my heater hoses a while back and went to go refill my coolant someone decided to put wheel/rim cleaning acid in a conventional green coolant jug and not mark it, so I poured a cup of this stuff in my cooling system, so i flushed it out as soon as I realized...
I had the same issue on my freshly rebuilt engine. I tensioned the belt to being able to put the pin in and out (the common agreed upon way of doing it) and it leaked, so I replaced the seal behind the oil pump sprocket that gets run by the belt. I had the bse with mitsu stubby shaft. It still...
In my personal opinion I would run it till it dies and in the mean time build a new engine with the port/polish and all the goodies. The service limit on a 1g 4g63t is 121psi...And if you see smoke boostin down the on ramp to the highway and its black smoke it is just unburnt fuel, the...
Could possibly be a worn clutch pedal assembly that finally died, seems like you've replaced everything else so maybe it's just too much slop at the top of the pedal that's not giving maximum movement.
If you end up replacing it, and are on a budget, topline makes an oil pump for our cars. I bought one for my 1g, it was just a Hyundai pump with the casted logo shaved off. It's only $150 for the whole thing. Where as buying a Mitsu one you have to buy the case, then gears, and the belt sprocket...
Got mine from the same place. ITM brand about 5 years ago, still just fine to this day. This tool helps replacing them with the head and cams in just take the valve cover off and make sure the cylinder you are working on isn't at tdc...
The dealer doesn't sell internal turbocharger components. Attached is a screen shot from mitsubishi Caps (the dealers part program) and they have no listing for internal parts. JusMX141 is a user on here that rebuilds turbos. He could probably do it with his eyes closed. I would try this thread...
I used one on my Saturn ion that had no cat and it worked and I passed Ohio emissions testing with an eBay version of this. You would use this on the second o2 sensor, the one that is after where the cat would be. The only purpose of that o2 sensor after the cat is to check catalytic converter...
Don't use rtv, use hairspray. Spray a little in the hose and put it on let it sit overnight. Works on silicone couplers that won't stay on too. Leaned that trick from jafromobile on YouTube, he has a lot of great dsm vids.
I have the motorage books and like them. I have my a1,a4, and a5 certs. I hope to be full master by the end of 2013 which will definitely give me a reason to walk into my boss and ask for a raise.
Have you seen pics of 2gs where the ball joint breaks? Not pretty. And if you're going any faster then 25mph you're going to need a new pair of shorts. I got complete replacement 1g control arms from 1aauto for about $100 for the pair. I have a post about it somewhere on dsmtuners.Iirc from my...
Search for jafromobile on YouTube he has great dsm videos. He has a 5 part video on rebuilding the driveshaft. Probably about an hour long total. That'll help you identify parts and how to fix them. He also has part numbers in the video.
Look into plastidip, they come out awesome. And they have a lot of colors now. And if you get sick of it or it gets messed up you just peel it off.www.dipyourcar.com
It's not impossible to add a knock board, I bought my EPROM ecu from keydiver when he was in business and just last summer I sent it to ECMlink for a check up and they said it was a 94 non turbo EPROM converted to turbo, and that it was a good clean swap and that Jeff did a nice job with it.
Any transmission shop should be able to if you don't wanna take on the task yourself. Two awesome shops that just focus mainly on dsms are shepherd transmission and jacks transmission.
I have the air cat 1100k 1/2 impact and the air cat 3/8 impact. I use them everyday as a VW Technican and I love them. I also have the air cat 1/4 air ratchet and 3/8 air drill. All of those are very quiet compared to other air tools.
Np, here is a link to the blue point tool so you have a tool part number to give him.http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?search=true&item_ID=640507&PartNo=YA9870&group_id=675624&supersede=&store=snapon-store&tool=all
Ah, we'll snap on sells that and its something you might have to borrow. They call it a spanner wrench iirc. Idk if you have access to a snap on dealer.Search eBay for Mitsubishi spanner wrench there are a few listed.
You can get a stock wastegate actuator (not adjustable) for a 14b/16g for cheap off the classifieds. Thats what I meant by my first post. I'd say anymore then $25 to your door would be too much.
I take it you have an adjustable wastegate actuator arm? I see your profile says you have a 16g so why not just get a 14b/16g wastegate actuator to replace it for now?
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-miscellaneous/345914-how-rebuild-modify-power-steering-pump.htmlNumber 15 in the pic, o-rings. That thread will help you!You can see the two o-rings that need replaced about halfway down when he has that peice in the blue vice and he's taking it apart...
You can get ostrich 2.0 to run with tunerpro. It's an EPROM emulator, so instead of having to burn a chip everytime you make a change you just change it in tunerpro and upload it to the ostrich which plugs in the EPROM socket where the chip would. I just it ostrich and tunerpro before I put the...
I wish Mitsubishi sold the plugs like VW does. I would make my own harnesses. Every VW connector has a part number on it and you can go order them with wiring and make your own. I think if Mitsu did sell them they would sell like hot cakes cause everyone on here or vendors would be building...
Room is for the "room" lights, the dome lights and clock, in the link to the thread I posted its labeled fuse 11. 19eclipse90, how did you come up with that it is fuse 19?
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/frequently-answered-dsm-questions/310956-1g-2g-fuse-box-diagrams-cover-diagram-fuses.htmlThat's a link to fuse diagrams, I took a quick look and didn't see 19. Iirc the ecu gets power from the mpi relay so look for mpi fuse which also iirc is on the positive...
I can't get my uego to log properly with tunerpro (with ostrich 2.0) either, I've tried a few formulas in the program to get it to work that work out perfect mathematically but doesn't work. It's a great gauge but getting it to log properly is tough. I plan on switching to mtx-l too cause I know...
Post 29 answered the connector question under the hood and ill repeat it its the boost control solenoid connector. It's been deleted. The yellow connector under the dash is one of the 3 for the ecu.
Call them with your vin and ask. It's easy to do yourself if you are worried and they won't do it. You can get the kit from a Mitsubishi dealer it comes with a new transfer case yolk and u joint. The recall was due to a plug inside the yolk that would leak and the transfer case would dry up and...
Ok so that energy suspension kit comes with a poly bushing for the rear toe? Like where the jayracing kit goes? It's not a full drag car so a poly bushing there would be great. I'm not to worried about knocking the alignment out cause Im a technician at a dealership so alignments are free...
All the threads I've read with links to tuners nation are dead. I don't know if that site exists. So the energy suspension kit will replace the lower arm bushing and ill have an extra set for the uppers cause I have the ingalls arms.
Ok so I stole the following pic from boostx's classified add and I understand the four red circles are the subframe bushings in the foreground and the mustache bar bushings in the background. My question is if I was to purchase the energy suspension Rear End Control Arm Bushing Set where...
Sounds like a broken timing belt. The accessory belts still spin because they are directly connected to the crankshaft which is spun by the starter on the flywheel.
If pauleyman's post doesn't make sense I'll try to clear it up a bit. The power steering belt is tensioned by the pump itself. To loosen and tension the power steering belt there are 3 bolts. If you look at the power steering pump pulley you will see two holes in it, you have to line those holes...
