Well the first thing i would check is your intercooler piping and see if there is oil in there. If so check the turbo. If not i would then be thinking valve guide seals, or bad oil rings on the pistons. Other possibilities are the galley gaskets on the valve cover or a leaking headgasket.
Check your 6-bolt CAS wiring, sounds like your not getting either fuel or spark. I would def try and figure out what your not getting to track down the cause.
If you want to hear something interesting, i used a plastic foot from a couch and tapped it with an air compression fitting and threw a coupler on the thing and works like anything you can buy lol.
I have also personally liked and had good luck (quality wise) with the R&D exhaust on my 1g. Sounded great with a good tone and was a slight power adder from factory.
^^i agree with this guy^^Turbo is a direct swap for your 1g, however i would recommend getting new copper crush gaskets for your water and oil feed line, and new oil return gaskets to prevent any leaks from re-using the original ones.
^^ I agree with this guy. Also there are alot of moving parts on that side obviously so i would also check the ac compressor, alternator, and ps pump to make sure its no issues there.

What i do is take the proper size boost leak tester for your turbo and remove your intake pipe and clamp on your boost leak tester to the turbo. Hook up your air line from your air compressor to your boost leak tester and adjust your pressure regulator to 15-20psi. If you have a leak you will...
Well i now have 500+ miles on the build here also with an oil change with non synthetic oil, and it still smokes after idling for a little bit. I can't notice any smoking while driving or under boost but after it stops and ildles for about 45 seconds to a minute it smoke enough to be noticeable...
Once the transmission is pulled away a bit from the engine and off the dowl pins, you can rotate the transmission enough to clear the diff housing away from the subframe.
Are you running a manual boost controller? Depending on the style, i had a bleed off style and the lower i had the boost set the later boost would hit. The higher i had it set the quicker it spooled.
