Answer is likely "minnesota", or possibly the name of the city in which the Hormel plant resides, whichever city that may be. Just a guess on my part.Scheides really just needs to stop being a whore and fix his site, lol.
I'm not spending the whole day with them, no, but I'll be eating dinner with them and staying home the rest of the night.Anyway, I'll see you guys in the Talon tomorrow. #### if I'm going to let a turbo bolt keep me from coming down. I'll play with it in a bit to see if I can get it out, but...
Well, I'm starting to think maybe the bolt's not broken, but I definitely can't loosen or tighten it beyond a certain range, about 3 turns. I'll be breaking out the PB Blaster tomorrow and soaking the #### out of it, maybe get it to come out, but somehow I doubt it'll be as easy as I'd like. If...
Checked the turbo bolts tonight, sure enough shit was backing out again. I swear to god it's time to weld the thing to the manifold I'm so ####ing sick of the problems those bolts give me.So the Talon's fine after all, just being a DSM as usual.Scratch that, in the light I can see the bolt...
I might not, though. I need to find out why my spool time keeps increasing, I may end up needing a new turbo on it. If so, I'm not putting 500 miles on it in a weekend. I'm hoping it's a boost leak, but I think I'd have blown a coupler by now.I've been banking on having the Evo back so I can...
I have a vague update because the message I was left was just as vague. Anything in quotes is as much info as I have. They got "some parts" today. They also found out that reconditioning of my bumper "didn't work" and said something about a "stand-in". When they tore into it to do the core...
Oh, I'll be down, I just hope I have the Evo back from the body shop by then. Someone cut me off in traffic, and Mitsubishi is terrible at getting parts to people. If I get it back this week it'll most likely be Friday.
I'm looking to go loud on the Evo eventually, probably 3" all the way back with just a resonator and a muffler. Right now it's too quiet. The schedule at work now reflects my having this weekend off. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing you guys again.
A DSMer is a DSMer no matter what he drives, quit making excuses and show up in the Subi.Just don't expect me not to antagonize you into testing and comparing.
I should go get pics of my car in snow that sits above the frame rails. 3" off the ground in MN with no problems (well, ice chunks make bad noises but you get used to ignoring that after a while).
This has been an issue for a while, since I registered, even. Just keep trying, that worked for me.From what I understand, the 1.8 tranny can be bolted up to the 2.0. A buddy of mine did it, had some issues initially, but I think it ended up narrowing down to the inspection plate being loose.
Well, I was thrown a few steps backward when I went to do the clutch on my car and the crossmember pretty much fell out of the core support, which came out of the car in 3 pieces. So I'm toning things down to just getting fuel done, getting a decent FMIC, and doing a MAF-T setup until I can...
That's the spirit. Locally, we have a novice class that you can run regardless of setup, and you can stay classed there until you trophy. Only one trophy is handed out each event, that being to the winner. And god knows there's always someone faster than a lightly modded DSM, so I'm still there...
I don't know how competitive your guys' regions are, but for me, there's a better chance to trophy running standard SM than in street tire index. ST is just brutal.
Yeah, don't cheat, just run SM if you want the bigger turbo. The point isn't to win unless you make that the point, the real point is to go out and have fun. Winning is just a fun side effect.
I'm going to try to finish up my current build to make the car at least somewhat competitive in SM. It goes around corners quite nicely now, but it's still lacking that critical component of getting from one corner to the next. But first, brakes. Slotted stock size rotors with EBC Green pads...
I'm of the same opinion, but I'd never run street tire index in my region. Way too competitive. At least I could run in the middle of SM on stock suspension last season... Street tire? Likely dead last or very close to.I'm greatly looking forward to next season now that the car's dropped and...
That's what I meant.Regardless, it takes quite a lot. A friend of mine had a Stealth R/T he ran in SM-T and placed 7th last season while having put down multiple FTDs.
I've been planning to do this since the first rallyx I spectated late last season. I've been photographing the events since, but don't have the money (or the space) to build a second DSM.I'd run stock AWD until I got comfortable with the car in those conditions, then do a few mods and go up...
I wish I could make it, but I've got a leadership training gig that weekend. If it's any consolation, it was a really hard decision to make between my photo portfolio and my resume.Though I would very much like to do a shoot down there at some point. I'll let you know when next I can make it...
Really? Dammit. Now I don't know whether to wish for rain or sun...Actually, what needs to happen is rain for the autox and sun afterward to dry up the strip for 9pm.
I'll be showing up for the 11th as well, got it off work and everything! And I hope you guys are happy, because that means I'm only getting 13 hours total next week. I'm splitting a room with Matt in Cedar Falls, because I'm not driving back to MN at 1am.Greg, by all means show up on the...
I don't know how many times to say it, but if you guys want to do MN DSM stuff, post it up on MitsuStyle. You'll seriously get a lot more interest than you will on here. I hardly see anyone from Style on here or Talk, so you're losing the possibility of at least 10 active community members...
I think he said $1300.Heh, that may be an interesting weekend. I'm seeing it for free courtesy of MAP on Friday, so if I come to the meet, it'll be in the morning...Wait, when's VEISHEA? If it's the following weekend, I'm not doing two weekends in a row in Ames, like hell I can afford that.
Okay, first off, I never called you an idiot, nor did I even imply it. If you think that getting beaten by a Honda in autox makes you an idiot, then I'm sorry. That was my experience vs Matt for my first (and only) 3 events that I attended with him before moving back to Minnesota, and I'm not...
If this is your first event, you lose.If this is your second event, you lose.Third event, you lose on the last run.I haven't been to any more events with Matt beyond 3, so I don't know how it'll turn out after that.
Backinajiffy, just get a radar detector that does both radar and laser and call it good. Jammers are retarded, you'll get pulled over anyway because they're very illegal, and it's kind of obvious that you're using one when their radar comes back with 999.
