For a DD.... hell no to coil overs. I had Tein's on my old 2g FWD and it was horrible. No matter how big the bump was you felt it, and if they were bad it sounded like the car wanted to fall apart. Lowering springs sure, but read up on em first.
I'll pop in this thread as a long time FWD owner, DSM and non. Traction is the biggest PITA for us it's not funny. My SC'd Cobalt could run 12's with DR's or slicks if the axle/trans would have taken it on very minimal mods(about 270whp) I give all you FWD guys props for the fast cars, but I...
I had bad wheel bearings in my GSX and it shook so bad, but it was also my cheap ass rims that fit for shit. have em balanced, and check the allignment, just cause it don't pull does not mean it's not off toe wise.
To be honest if you built the Ls1 short block up, or got very lucky to find a nice used one they are about the cost of an E316g and install kit, which is not bad honestly. I will add too, now that I have owned both a FWD, and AWD DSM that my Camaro is a bit more fun when you can slide around...
To be honest like they said if you hate this site don't come back, and DSM's are cheap to make fast. Plus they can be reliable when done right, find a honda piece of shit that fits that...... My GSX Was one of the most reliable cars I have seen, never ever left me stranded, and I ran the car...
The only problem I have with the Tokikos is if I go non adjustable I don't want a ride thats to stiff, and the adjustable ones are like 100$ more than the AGX'S. Blah decisions decisions. I have had Tein coilovers, and they we're the worst ride I have ever had in my FWD..... way to stiff.
in the parts review it shows someone using them with KONI adj's. but im not paying 750 for struts lol. I found the OE's on ebay though, for like 245 a set.
I had Tein basics on my old tsi fwd, and it was super super low. This setup is giving a 1" drop, and it looks really good on the car they showed in the parts review section.
So I am thinking of going with the H&R OE sport springs, granted they say they are for the FWD but they are going on my AWD. Couple those with the KYB AGX adjustables and I should have a pretty nice drop, and ride still. Was curious if anyone has ran this combo, and could offer how they like...
So I was curious if I can use a 95 trans in my 98 GSX, but from what I heard on Jacks site the gearing is different, is it that big of an issue or could I get away with it. Fyi my 2nd gear is making noise now, and grinding going into gear, and first gear pops out so a trans is in need asap.
my friends old fwd tsi got towed ### of the upper strut mount coming loose and the insulator fell out, they just picked it up with dolly wheels in the front and towed it from the back, easy as pie.
the only pipe that is different is the pipe off the turbo outlet, the T-25 has a C pipe and the 16g has a J pipe, the J pipe can be had from almost any vendor, add a 90* coupler and it will hook right up to the fmic no problem. I have a Dejon short route fmic on my gsx atm.PUnishment does...
I have a fmic on my t-25 right now, and anyone who says it does not help performance is full of shit. my car pulls like a train compared to stock, with just the slightest hint of lag. worth it for me as a evo 3 is coming.
I have had a 95 tsi fwd, and now my 98 gsx. I honestly would not own another fwd dsm. they torque steer like a whore in the rain, and even stock mine did not like to hook at all...... I love my 2gb looks, and get compliments on the car everywhere i take it. Color is a major factor in a 2g...
If you have a stock clutch you will need to upgrade as well. You will need some 650's FIC's and a wally 255 pump, dsm link prefered, you may have to upgrade to a e316g, the fp mani is great, afpr, and there might be more but i can't think of it atm.
Anyone tell me how to measure the offset on my rims, I am looking into heavily getting some fronts for my gsx, backs later on.... Just not sure how to measure if they would fit, or the offset for that matter. May just take a trip to belle tire and ask them how to measure for the offset and...
If you have the stock shrouds under the car by the filter housing it will need a tiny bit of love, but i am still running a stock fan, and removed my ac one, my core is cooked off a tad bit ### of that but i will fix it later. I don't have any issues with it after around 12k miles so far. the...
I need a well cover for my gsx, and the polish with the black looks petty good. I could run it for rep for SIM? As I do show the car off a lot here in Detroit.
Not the carbon TI, but it is the hks system on my GSX. starts at 2.5 at the cat and goes right to 3"The fit was really good too, wish i could get the muffler to sit just a smig to the right but oh well. and I LOVE the way it sounds with the stock DP and cat in place.
In my opinion very...
Ok so the screws in the bottom of the window switch seem to have stripped out in the door panel itself, does the piece come off that it screws to to be replace, or how would i go about fixing it, glue maybe? I have had to pull the door panel 2 times now to re tighten the screws ### they fall...
the cup on the bottom of the sub box that the speaker wires run too, there is a red and black cap for posative and negative wires, one of the caps came loose and is gone. i'll get a pic tomorrow.
I had to buy new posts for the bottom of the sub box, since no one had the freaking little screw on cap. going to wire the remote wire into the fuse box, i already but my head unit and console all back together, just need a lace in the firewall to run my power wire through now. almost done.
any idea which wire in the pic is the remote wire from the head unit, i know blue is supposed to be it, but i think there are 2 blue wires. one spotted in white, one solid. I have never done any electrical really before so how would I wire it into the radio fuse if i went that route?
Ok, so I don't feel like paying best buy another 100$ to re install my sub in my GSX, so today I am doing it my self for the first time. As of right now I have the center console and stereo out, the only problem I am having, is where the hell does the remote wire for the amp go? I have to go...
You should be able to ask a manager or someone at the station what the true mixture is, if not they can make a phone call and find out, or at least should be able to.
Going to get some VHT for the tails, and test it on the inside of these then when i get my stocks ordered i will see which way to go with those. But here is my center section painted P88 cayenne red.Sorry for the bad pic, will take some in the sun tomorrow.
