Anyone near Huntly/Lake in the Hills/Crystal Lake have a Cherry Picker that I can borrow/rent? I need to put a motor in my car and the one I usually use isn't available until April and I need to get it done sooner than that. I know this is a long shot but figured I would try.
That isn't a wheelie bar. It is called a traction bar. When the car accelerates it has weight transfer like any other car which lightens the load on the front wheels causing a loss of traction. So when the weight transfers to the back, it puts the traction bars on the ground which will stop...
So who is all going to be at AMS this Friday. Weather looks to be promising. I was thinking about coming out with the beast as long as I dont blow another head gasket.
Funny Cars don't have handles. The entire car lifts up and they get out through the roof if there is an accident. I doubt that car had any problems passing tech. I also do not remember reading anything in the tech manuals about door handles being required.
At least jones is going to 4 years in pound me in the A$$ prison. If I was that dude, I would sue Jones to make sure that everything that he has is mine and everything he has in the future is mine. (I doubt that is a lot) but I would want half of his damn welfare and food stamps.
The 11.38 was on my old 60 trim. I have yet to put together a clean pass on the SCM61. I was fighting other gremlins last year (warped flywheel and other issues) that prevented me from getting a single clean pass. The SCM61 did go the fastest MPH of 126.49 on an 11.88 pass on 26 psi (had to...
I have a SCM61 and I love it. I drive it on the street at around 20psi on pump gas and have only lost 1 race (Twin turbo 350 on race gas). The 61 will make tons of horsepower as long as you have the parts. It is a bit laggy but you can get around it through gear selection and clutch usage. I...
I did a search and really didn't come up with much. On yahoo.com today they had a link to new games coming out for PS2 and they had one with a picture of a Ford GT and the game is called Enthusia Professional Racing. So I clicked on it and this game looks awesome. I included the link with...
Not that it wont allow me, it just isn't capable of it. If I use my AEM for boost control, I am sure I would be able too, but most people dont have that option.
Well I did say most boost controllers. Which boost controller do you use that allows that? My Joe P and my EVC EZ will only allow 2 times the spring pressure.
Wastegate springs are pretty easy to understand. If you want to run 14psi as your absolute lowest boost, then you need a .9 bar. The wastegate spring rate is the absolute minimum amount of boost you will be able to run. For example, if you want to run 1 bar 14.5 psi, you put in the 1 bar...
Our block can handle a lot of boost. I know properly setup RACE cars running 40+ psi with nitrous. On your average car, there is no way you will hold that much. Go get a logger and a wideband.Stock head bolts will probably start to fail around the 25psi mark. A stock 7 bolt (mind you a...
I just found some of my time slips from the last time at the track last year. I think this has to be the slowest time with the highest MPH. Can anyone beat12.799 @ 122.76 <-Car had major problems in 2nd gear (Sputtering, Pedaled the car)
There is no ecu turn off. It is supposed to do it on its own. Hold old is your unit. The first few that came from AEM had a problem like this. If you call them up they will have you run some tests. If it comes back that this is one of those units, you send it into them and they will fix it...
Bringing this thread back up.RSR was never manufactured with a twin tip. Road Race Engineering used to sell the RSR and would cut the 5.5inch tip off and weld on a 3 inch to two 2.5 inch stock looking tips. The reason why the RSR is so quiet is that the exhaust necks down to 2.5 inches...
I once said my goal was 400 hp and that quickly went by the wayside. If you go AEM, you will never need to replace it. I had an AFC, then DSMLINK V1, Then V2, Then DSMLINK with MAFT, now I have an AEM and it is the endall. The dsmlink is much much much much much much easier to use. If you...
I have the same turbo on my car.
Last year was a very bad year for racing for me, but the best the car went was 126.5 mph on 26psi and having to pedal the car in 2nd gear. it should easily get to your goal. I would save up for a wideband O2 if you can (300 bucks or so). Other than some...
any exercise is good exercise. Check into the HIIT. Studies have shown that a 15 minute HIIT workout over 15 weeks will burn 9 time more fat that a 30 minute constant med-low cardio workout for 20 weeks. Hard to believe but it is an authentic study.
Things are rather difficult to get running with out any variables in the mix. My recomendation is try to get the car running on the stock ecu first. Once you are sure the car runs fine, then try to get it running on the AEM.
I am currently working on losing weight. They general rule of thumb is to figure out your maintence calories (based on age, weight and activity level) then eat 500 less calories than your maintence. Along with that, do some cardio. A pound of fat is 3500 calories. So if you can manage to eat...
R/T doesn't matter during test or tune. The time only matters once the lights rejoin unless you deep stage. I was on the 2 step setting things up when I dropped the hammer.
Hey, its me! Sorry I have been away so much guys. I just bought a house and am getting married next year so the car has been sitting for a while. I had a horrible year racing. Just took the trans down to find that my flywheel surface is visably warped. So hopefully next year will be better...
Not sure exactly. I think so. Havn't recieved any email yet but I was ahead like 57 to 22% on monday. Everyone needs to go vote for Mike Carlin's Supra for this week. His car is a true masterpiece. Holds the record for most horsepower on a stock bottom end for a supra, 900+hp.
Thanks for all the help. It looks like I will win this week.Just an update too. I made it to the track on Sat. No new best time but I did manage my best MPH ever. The car went through that traps at 126.49. I still have more boost to throw at it too. Now only if I could learn to drive...
I went to the track on Sat with my car and the new setup. I didn't get a new best time but I did manage a new best mph. The car went 126.49 through the traps. I was fighting gremlins all day long. I still have more boost to go so hopefully I will make it back sometime soon and try again. It...
Thanks again all. Now the 88 Camaro has more votes than that vette. I have a feeling things will get close towards the end. I wish I knew when they changed out the cars for next week.I am going to the track on Sat. so if the weather holds out hopefully I will have a nice new timeslip to...
Last night I was at 70%, came in this morning and my car was at 40% and the Vette was at 50. So I need all the votes I can get. Thanks for all your help.
A local radio station and Castrol here in Chicago is holding a car contest and I entered my 1997 TSi AWD. The prize is a castrol prize pack and 50 bucks. The battle is pretty much between my car and a stock C4 Vette. If you could stop by and vote for me I would highly appreciate it...
Easy there Killer, no one said you lied. Just if the other driver was good, you wouldn't have won. Either he missed a shift, or spun and spun and spun and spun. There is no way a stock talon is going to beat a ws6 with good drivers in both. Sorry, aint gonna happen. The ws6 will out MPH...
The general rule of thumb is that for every 3500 calories you either cut from your diet or burn in addition to what you are doing every day will result in the loss of 1 lb of fat.So if your weight is constant and you eat about 3000 calories per day. If you cut your diet down to just 2000...
I think I now get maxim until 2018 and stuff until 2013 from all these free subscription deals. Just make sure you use the same name and address you have previously or else you will end up getting two copies of each magazine.
I went 11.38 on a bone stock 2G mas (still had honeycombs and screw in stock position) but DONT TRY IT. The mas will start to flake out at about 380g/s on most units. I saw 400 g/s before it stopped counting any higher. This was at about 6000 RPM. So from 6000 to 8000 RPM, I kept adding more...
Yep, I was there. It is a blast. I wish I could have stayed longer. It really was cool meeting so many people there. Nice to stand around and talk to people with similar interests. Thanks for all the compliments. The rims on the Subie are 18 inch SSR Compeitions. The Lancer had an...
A lot of the times it is much easier to refinance through the bank that you currently have your mortgage through. They often times do not need you to resubmitt paystubs or have the house appraised again. Call up a local branch and find out what the rates are at. If you are not planning on...
A lot of the higher end BOV with stiffer springs tend to flutter under part throttle. I can get my Tial to do it also. Unfortnatly this is probably just something you are goign to have to deal with.
I want to say that V2 of the MAFT is really not supposed to need an AFC at all. I think it is much more adjustable than V1 was. I know several people using it on their cars with much success even without an AFC. I have one on my car but I use DSMlink (to combat MAS overrun).
I am sorry to hear of your loss. Losing a friend is a horrible thing.Right now I know you are emotional but wishing death upon the other driver is not right either. From the story that you told, both drivers were in the wrong plain and clear. Just keep that in mind. Chances are that the...
The stock wheels made the car look even more like a sleeper (if that is possible with a huge front mount, rollcage and huge exhaust) but I couldn't get enough tire under the car with the 6.5 inch wide rims. These new MX tires are over an inch wider of a contact patch compared to my old 225...
Ok, some of you are right and some of you are wrong.Personally I never upgrade operating sytems but if you want to you can and it will probably work just fine for you.Windows XP can and will run on FAT32 just fine. You do not need NTFS.If you do an install of XP on FAT32 you can...
