99 Eclipse GS N/THistory - Car over heated. Replaced water pump, timing belt, radiator, resurfaced the head, bought all new gaskets. Drove for 2 weeks and was sometimes dying at stops and had a rough idle. Then and the timing belt tensioner pulley bolt broke. Replaced it, replaced timing...
How hot did the car get? Just the reading out of curiosity.
When the wife was driving it home she realized it when it was smoking under the hood.
So after the overheat your getting a misfire on cylinder 1?
No actually not til I got it out of the shop.Water coming out of thermostat...
Thanks for answering but was it really needed to be such a :beatentodeath: jackass about it. I read for an hour before I posted. Saw several overheating issues. None that looked like mine regarding all the parts I have replaced and still having the issue. So I thought if I posted and someone...
Done the search already.Wife was driving hom from work when car overheated. When pouring water in it would come out near the water pump area. Took it to the shop, replaced water pump, timing belt, and radiator because they said it was leaking. Picked it up yesterday drove it about 8 miles...
From what you can read on the before and after does it make any sense that now from looking at the car from the rear it looks like the camber is worse now then before. I noticed this yesterday. To me it looks like the tires are sitting way more on the inside then before the adjustment. But he...
Not sure what kind of camber kit is in the back they all kinda look the same to me but it is maxed out. He said there was no more adjustment. Should I add the bolts and washers to get more?I ordered the front ingalls camber kit. Will this be enough to correct the issues you see or is there...
Well good news and bad news. Good news is my buddy at NTB pulled out boards and everything else to get the car onto the alignment rack. There was already a rear camber kit on there and I get to take my bolts and washers back and got two new tires on it.He began doing the alignment and it...
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. For the answers I can remember to questions from reading the comments. The front tires are doing great and show no signs of uneven wear. I assume a front camber kit was put on. When trying to take a peek under I couldnt tell since the car is so low. As I...
My recently purchased 2g is lowered im guessing 2inches. I can fit 2 fingers between the tire. Has 18's on it. Well Just realized that after driving it for a month the two rear tires are worn big time on the inside and still look new on the outside. Before I go buy a kit or bolts and washers I...
Thanks fellas. I got it all done in about 5 minutes last night. Now I have my ipod doc plugged in and working. I in fact only ended up removing the plate around the a/c stereo, then popped out the stereo and tray out. Then had access to the lighter below.I appreciate all the help.
I gave that a try last night when I bought the replacement and noticed that it looked as if it screw'd in but the factory one wouldnt budge. As if its rusted, coroded, etc....Since yours is out, what holds the top section of the trim in? I didnt see any screws. Are there clips? Thanks
Thanks, I'll give the armrest removal a go tonight and see how far that gets me. I could see that freeing up the bottom part but the top that goes around the stereo area seems really tight with no screws in sight. Thanks again.
Just recently got my 99 Eclipse GS. Have fixed several things so far. But a little unsure on this one. The Cigarette Lighter is dead. Fuse is good etc. Just looking inside this thing looks bad. I picked up a $5 replacement at the local part store. But im not sure how to get the original out...
